NFL 2009-10 Season

I believe this was so the other team could get to the stadium with time to spare.

Sabres can probably confirm that the game in Cleveland against the Bills in 2007 was worse than in Baltimore today. That game wasn't delayed and started promptly at 1pm.

Folks in the south just don't know how to handle snow. States in the snowbelt do.

OMG! I can't believe the finish in Pittsburgh!

First a botched onside kick by the Steelers WITH THE LEAD, then Aaron Rodgers leads the Packers for a quick TD with a short field to go ahead by 6, then Roethlisburger and the Stools drive down the field and score a winning TD with time expiring?!

It's official. The Steelers are the luckiest team on the face of this earth!

In case you've missed it, Big Ben has had MANY game winning TD drives in his short career.

HD,
Here's a stat for you.

The Steeler's who will most likely MISS the playoffs have :

Lost 5 games in the last minute of play this year.
I think they actually said in the last :15 sec of the games.

They've been in all the games they've played.

Gotta believe with Troy and Aaron Smith healthy they would be a team to recon with in the playoffs.

Unfortunatly thats not gonna happen this year.

I'd nominate the Colts- they've won half of their games by the skin of their teeth.
Why do you say s*** like this about the colts every season? They know how to come from behind and win close games.I don't see how that has to do with any "luck". Will it contribute to a probable early exit from the playoffs? Could be but to say its mostly luck is one of the dumbest things I've heard this season.

A win is a win is a win.

With two weeks left, there's still 12 teams alive in the AFC for a playoff berth, but only 7 teams in the NFC (the Giants are still alive).

There are 6 teams fighting for the last playoff spot in the AFC, if things stayed the way they are today.

NE, Cincy, Indy, and San Diego would be in for winning thier divisions. (at this point and Balt. is only 1 game back of Cincy).

Then Balt. and Denver at 8 wins .....

Wait, I thought they only took 6 teams, if thats the case, the 7-7 teams would not make it.

Do they take 6 or more teams in each conference ?

Baltimore plays Pittsburgh next week, thats a BIG game in determining the next position in the playoffs, Steeler's win and they TIE Baltimore's record .... and potentially take thier spot in the playoffs with one week to go.
Looks like Balt. might still have the tie breakers on division and conference records.
On the other hand, if Balt. beats the Steeler's, the Steeler's season is OVER and Balt. at the same time could be tied for the top spot with the Bengals

Carolina is taking the Vikings to the woodshed.

If only they played like this earlier in the season, maybe they would be more of a playoff factor.

What could have been. That was an impressive performance worthy of SNF. Julius Peppers is a stud! And we may finally have a suitable replacement for Jake (pick 6) Delhomme.

This is the final season for football at Giants Stadium.

Sandra probably shed a few tears when the original Yankee Stadium closed- will she get misty-eyed when the J-E-T-S leave the Meadowlands?

He meant there are 12 teams in contention still in the AFC, some have clinched their spots.

Playoff Picture 2009

Right now Baltimore and Denver have the two wild card spots, I think one of them falls and Miami/Jets/Texans/Titans make it in.

It would be a hell of a comeback if the Titans made it, but they just need so much to go their way. I think they can beat their next two opponents though (Chargers, Seahawks) to give them a chance.

Conference record I think will keep the Steelers out, if they beat Baltimore I think that just keeps Baltimore out of the playoffs along with them.

Man, this season is turning out to be great, look all this teams all tied up both AFC and NFC!.
Last year people clinched their divisions easily, not this year!

I think your right about this ....
Steeler's are out regardless and a Balt. loss will take them out too.
It looks like it is only 6 teams that get in. (thats fine with me) hope they don't over delute it like the NHL does.

Steeler's are playing spoilers instead of getting in this year, they started way too late, (good start, poor middle).
They can knock the Ravens out and have the opportunity to give the Dolphins another loss. ( will that knock the Dolphins out ? or just drop them in thier positioning in the playoffs ?)

They cannot get in, but they can effect the playoff picture.

Edit:
After looking at the standing, it looks like Miami is no closer to the playoffs than Pittsburgh, for some reason I thought they were all but in, but they are not.

IF Steeler's/Ravens win out and the Bengals loss out, one of them would go as division winners .

IF Denver fell apart that would possibly shake things up further.
