Sports Illustrated asked 296 players who they thought was the dirtiest player in the league and Pittsburgh Steelers receiver, Hines Ward was a resounding victor, earning nearly double the votes of the next highest player.

Players say Hines Ward, Albert Haynesworth are dirtiest in NFL - Shutdown Corner - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Even though he retired last spring, former Chargers safety Rodney Harrison(notes) received three votes, thus showing that dirtiness can live on in perpetuity.

AWESOME!)

- Reportedly the Colts have lost Bob Sanders for the year

- NFL and the league has agreed to a media blackout regarding new CBA negotiations.

It's a shame Bob Sanders can never manage to stay healthy. Dudes an excellent talent.

Speaking of the Colts.......

Colts cornerback Marlin Jackson tore his ACL in practice Wednesday and already has been placed on the season-ending injured reserve list.

As if that weren't enough, Colts wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez underwent arthroscopic knee surgery Thursday that will sideline him two to three weeks, a team source said.

We're at the NFL's midseason point.

What are your thoughts so far on this season's surprise teams, dissapointing teams, worst teams, early favorites for awards?

For me:

Best team- New Orleans
Worst team- Buccaneers or...or...or...
Surprising team- Broncos
Dissapointing team- Arizona
Midseason MVP- Adrian Peterson
Early favorite for coach of the year- Josh McDaniels...easily

Ty Law has signed with the Broncos and expects to contribute as early as their Monday night game hosting the Steelers.

Chiefs have released Bobby Engram to make room on the roster for Kolby Smith, who will be backing up Jamaal Charles while Larry Johnson is suspended.

LJ will be eligible to be reactivated from suspension on Monday, he'll have lost more than $300,000 (a single game check, would have been twice that buy the Chiefs and LJ reached a settlement to avoid a hearing over the case). Reportedly the league wanted to fine LJ just $10k for his comments.

Imagine that, wait till half the season is over, look to see who's undefeated or very close and sign with them ....... thats about as close to a bandwagon guy as I've ever seen.

Chances are he pulls a hamstring early ....................
Hasn't been in playing shape for years now.

There's some speculation that the Broncos signed him so Indy couldn't, as well as that they needed some help back there.

It's really not worth it for someone in the league for that long to put in the effort for a losing team.

It's not bandwagon, it's business.
