NFL 2009-10 Season

Did anyone catch the MNF pre-game show on NFL Network last night?

They were actually saying the Braylon Edwards signing was a bad move for the Jets. They said the Jets are not the same team they were before the trade. The addition of BE caused them to change their offensive philosophy. They're getting away from what their good at (running the ball) and Sanchez seems pressured to try and squeeze more balls in Edwards direction. Went on to say Braylon isn't a #1 WR, drops too many passes, etc.

You know, you really need to let go of this whole Braylon Edwards thing. He's gone. He's a Jet. He may succeed, he may fail. He's shown pretty good hands as a Jet so far, let's leave it at that for now.

For every person you find who says it was a bad move by the Jets, I can find one who said it was a good move.

Nothing is pressuring Sanchez more than the moron quotes by Rex Ryan. Every defense comes into games against the Jets on seek and destroy missions.

You sound like Stephon Marbury, who just can't seem to let go of the Knicks. STILL commenting over who the Knicks hired as coach. It's over Steph...Isiah is gone, and so is your time in New York. Go bother the Celtics.

Move along now...

1. YOU were the one who brought up Braylon, not me.

2. I was just elaborating on the ongoing Braylon Jets record posted by someone else.

BTW, Sandra, since Favre played for your team last year, what are your thoughts on how he is doing this year?

Eh, who cares. Here in New York, we move along. We don't obsess about Joe Torre's record in LA, or Jaromir Jagr's record in Russia. We send up warning flairs about the Eric Manginis and Isiah Thomases of the world, then we go back to our teams, as bad as they are.

On to the Next One... :D

We're at the NFL's midseason point.

What are your thoughts so far on this season's surprise teams, dissapointing teams, worst teams, early favorites for awards?

For me:

Best team- Colts
Worst team- Buccaneers
Surprising team- Bengals
Dissapointing team- Titans (They got their first win a lot later than most of us thought they would)
Midseason MVP- Drew Brees
Early favorite for coach of the year- Marvin Lewis

Sounds good to me.

Have you seen the Browns? I'd give the Broncos most surprising and McDaniels coach of the year.

The Thursday night "home" game against pittsburgh is shaping up to be one of the most embarrassing moments in Browns history. Cleveland Browns Stadium is going to be a sea of black & gold and the Browns are going to get killed on national TV. :(

Minor correction: The "Brown Out" is being organized for next weeks Monday Night game against Baltimore.

That will be embarrassing too, but not as bad as having a nationally televised home game with 75% of the Stadium waving terrible towels.

True.

And to all those converted Steeler fans residing in Ohio, you should be ashamed of yourselves. You know who you are. When the going get's tough, you don't abandon your team, especially for the enemy.

At the midpoint of this season, my fantasy QB, Matt Schaub, leads the league in passing yards and is tied for the league lead in TD passes.

I may not have gotten a marquee-name signal-caller, but I am happy with what's he done so far- and he STILL has games against Seattle, Jacksonville, and St. Louis!

And if they managed to get the combined 14 points it would have taken to win rather than lose their last 3 games not counting Oakland they'd have said the exact opposite. Just trying to find stuff to talk about is all IMO.

The latest rumors have Lerner seeking Eric Accorsi for GM/President of Football Operations. This IMO, would be the BEST possible scenario.

Any ideas for a not-quite-best-scenario?

"I am not taking any GM job anywhere. Period," Accorsi said. "I am not taking any full-time job. I serve the league office as a consultant. I have consulted in various areas with four NFL clubs the past two years."

Reportedly the Browns asked Kokinis to resign, he wouldn't, so he was dismissed and they're trying to show that it was with cause so they don't have to pay him.

I believe the conclusion that some of the blogs have come to... the Browns need to hire a new GM, and then let that GM hire a new coach. Time to cut their losses and move on.

Chiefs fans petitioning the team to keep Larry Johnson from breaking LJ's franchise rushing record either by keeping him inactive or cutting him. He's 75 yards away.

Still a good chance he's going to get cut on 11/9 when his suspension is over IMO.
