NFL 2009-10 Season

Sad to see Taylor go, I am sure a team like the Chargers could use a veteran like Taylor, the guy can run hard, especially with that O line the Chargers have, he shouldn't have any problems running over people and TD!

Julius Peppers, damn, if the Panthers let them go, that D line will QQ more this year.
I think Julius Peppers might end up in Miami.

Wait a minute. The criminal charges on this douch-nozzle isn't even the real story here.

The real story is the revelation that the Yinzer kicker got upset over not being able to wipe! Seriously, who knew Yinzers clean themselves?! I thought they liked to wallow in their own filth like pigs! ;):D

Well at least they aren't like the chickens in that dirty chicken coop called Cleveland.

You do know pigs are very clean animals don't you?

Looks like the Bengals are just like the Lions. They put Shane Graham on the Franchise list.

I am SHOCKED that HD MM has not mentioned that today is Jim Brown's birthday.

Arguably pro football's greatest player ever.

In his dat, he was a freak of nature like LeBron could be considered these days.

Woops. I didn't have that one marked on my calendar. Happy belated Mr. Brown! You were the MAN back in the day!

Is N.O. really gonna count on Reggie Bush to handle the load ?

Orange Julius, Julius Caesar. whatever his name is... I would gladly take him in Detroit. This joke is finally taking hold...

I doubt that the lie downs will go after Peppers, much the same the probably won't go after Haynesworth, a) they cost too much for the lie downs that don't want anymore long term contracts and b) they are more than a Peppers or Haynesworth away from being good.

That said, it would be a good start, you have to start somewhere if they want to turn this around.

Now Mr. Illitch might do something like this, but not ford ....
those two would definatly jump start the D to respectability.

I doubt it also. I think we have too many holes, and their money will be better spent on a few quality (not great) free agents that can make them respectable in my lifetime. Guys like Haynesworth and Dr. Peppers are the kind of pieces you add when you are just a piece away from the top step of the ladder. Besides, it really would have to be a payroll busting offer to get players of that quality to come here. That would be akin to the Tiger's signing Pudge after winning the WS in Florida, except even more money. The Tigers didn't have a cap to worry about. The Lions are not good enough or rich enough to afford either. In the end you are right Jimbo, neither would dramatically change this teams fortunes.

Detroit signs "Thunderfoot", aka Jason Hanson to a 4-year contract!

With the litany of other areas of need to focus on, it seems as if Detroit has dedicated the most time with their kicking situation so far this offseason. Just last week they were dabbling with Hanson and the franchise tag.

Lions restructure Culpepper's deal, re-sign Hanson, Peterman - NFL - CBSSports.com Football

He was a FA, and the only scorer on this team. Letting him walk would have just created another hole to fill, and we're running out of spackle. Too early to be players in the FA market yet. Teams are still sorting out there rosters. Dre Bly was cut yesterday, other names from other teams will be coming all this week and next. The Lions need to take their time and see what is available. With 5 picks in the first 105, and $25M or so in cap space, they can either fix this team, or throw the dirt on the corpse. So far, since Millen was fired, they are showing some signs of intelligence in what they are doing. Also they signed OG Peterson to a 5 yr. deal, with a $5.5M bonus. Now, if they draft a LT with one of those 2 first rd. picks, I would say we may be on our way to having something I haven't seen in these parts very often (actually, never) - A good O-line!
