NFL 2009-10 Season

They need to address the secondary and inside linebacker, before they can think about adding to their riches at receiver.

Considering New England had some bad games defensively (Miami, Steelers, Jets, Chargers), Pats have to beef up on defense.

If I'm Belichick/the Pats, select defensive players with EVERY draft pick.

Offense was not a problem last year even w/out Brady.

Bill, let me put it to you this way:

The following three things are more likely to happen than the Patriots doing something so stupid as that:

1. HD MM is seen and photographed wearing a shirt that says "I love all things Pittsburgh"

2. Sandra shows a picture of herself

3. Super Bowl XLIV pits the Lions vs. the Bengals

I'm not so sure.

Belichick seems to have an affinity for the"bad boys". See: Rodney Harrison, Corey Dillon and Randy Moss.

But IMO, Adam Jones makes all of them look like choir boys.

Dillon may have been a hothead, but he never ran afoul of the law.

Moss has had a few issues, but nothing big.

IMO, the only place Adam Jones can go is the Canadian Football League.

No NFL team will approach him with a 10-foot pole.

I totally agree. :up

IMO, it would be PR suicide after the Dallas fiasco.

I would LOVE to have Who's your mama, but The Pats have salary cap issues as it is (if they keep Cassel). They need to address the secondary and inside linebacker, before they can think about adding to their riches at receiver.

Bill,
The Pats need LB's, they drafted a very good one last year and the year before there was talk about them wanting James Laurenitis, Ohio State LB ....
I wonder if they are still looking at him ....

Jimbo,

they do need to infuse more youth at linebacker.

But their biggest need is in the secondary. It seems like every year, (even the championship years) the secondary gets hit with injuries and/or free agent defections.

TJ Houshmandzadeh WANTS OUT!
I am sure the Patriots could use someone like him and move Welker as a slot receiver (he is more affective there).
Imagine Moss/Welker/TJ on the same team....with Brady back 100%...can you say the Stallworth/Moss days are over?
Anyways, thats just a wish..I doubt it will ever happen.
I think TB or the chargers may go for him.

Titans would love to have him...however they will be disbursing some serius cash towards Haynesworth to keep him.
If the Titans let him go......which team should pick him up?
My money is on the Colts LOL..

The Bengals need to keep him. They should franchise him and then let Chad go or trade him this year.

Cincinnati could apply the franchise tag on Houshmandzadeh, 31, to restrict his ability to leave, but it does not appear they plan to do so. Franchising Houshmandzadeh would cost them $9.88 million against the 2009 salary cap. Houshmandzadeh also told the Dayton Daily News that he would boycott offseason workouts and be unhappy if the team designated him with the franchise tag.

Steeler Jeff Reed charged with criminal mischief

Steelers kicker Jeff Reed was cited with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after throwing a tantrum over an empty paper towel machine at a Westmoreland County convenience store.

Reed, 29, went in to the men's restroom at Sheetz on U.S. Route 22 in New Alexandria borough shortly before 3 a.m.

After discovering that the paper towel dispenser in the bathroom was empty, Reed started loudly banging from inside the bathroom, state police said. He damaged the towel dispenser.

When Reed left the bathroom, he spoke to a Sheetz employee using loud and profane language. He continued to use profane language outside the store, police said.
