NFL 2008-09 Season

Hard to believe that, aside from drafting Jonathan Stewart and getting rid of Kris Jenkins, this was the same team that went 2-6 at home a year ago.
Getting back a healthy Jake Delhomme and Mushin Muhamed has been huge, and Jeff Otah is another impact rookie. He has been a big part of the improved running game. I bet the Eagles regret giving up that draft pick. Still the improvement is remarkable. This is the Panther team I expected to see after the heartbreaking loss in the SB. Goes to show what sticking with a proven coach will do. Last year John Fox was on the hot seat. Now his seat is as cold as they come.

IIRC, didn't they reach an NFC title game against the Seahawks in 2005-06?

How does this team compare to that one?
You're right they did reach the NFC CG in 05. But that team was one dimensional. They threw to Steve Smith on every down. The Panthers had no running game until the end of the year, convienently. When Deshaun Foster broke his leg in the playoff win over Chicago we were done. This year's team is balanced. Two oustanding running backs, a great offensive line and more than one guy to throw the ball to. That was the formula that worked in 2003.

Well...this is gonna be a long flight home. On the way to the airport, drenched and pist! Witnessing an ass-whipping in the rain no less. Well, once again....big war.....Pats with guns and Raiders with knives.

Die Davis die!!!

This is the third time that one of us Sports Section members went to a game in person, and lost.

Salsa was at today's game, and HD MM went to Browns games.

Combined record- 0-3.

I can't believe you were calling for JP Lossman when Trent Edwards was the QB. Careful what you wish for Sabres. What an awful display of QBing. Lossman handed the Jets a victory today.

Bills close out against the Broncos and Patriots- basically, those are two losses.

IMO, Buffalo was a bigger disappointment than your Browns. Cleveland had an excuse- injuries (Stallworth, Jurevicius, Winslow, Quinn, Anderson).

When did the Pats turn into the Oklahoma Sooners? 49 points! My God!

Well...one TD was 90-something yard TD return after Raiders ran one for 90-something yards and another TD was a terrible TO that gave them the ball inside the 20. But they had more weapons than the Raiders and the team with the most guns or the biggest guns more than likely always wins the war.
