NFL 2007-08 Season

Nobody's hating Indy. So that logic does not line up here.

Here is what I believe happened.

Billichek got caught video taping opponents hand signals. He got caught... the other 50% of the teams in the NFL that do it did not. If you think Billichek is the only one doing it your not a person with intelligence enough to be on the internet reading this post.

So Billichek gets caught, and instead of rating out anyone else who does it by stating in a press conference, "Hey, I got caught doing what is not an uncommon thing in the league", he turns it around. He takes his team and puts them on the field week after week since that Jets game and proves he does not need to video tape, or cheat on anything to get an edge. I actually respect the man for not making this a big issue in the league the way the MLB players did with steroids. As soon as one MLB player was evidently proven to be guilty the names started dropping left and right of who was on the juice, and players were being summoned before congress. The same thing could have happened here if Billichek dropped a name or hint of anyone else doing this in the NFL, and it would be all we would hearing on Sports Center for the next 8 months.

As I said before. Two years ago, Indy was "running the score up", and Manning was staying in games he could have been pulled from, but there was no speak of controversy on Indy's offense for running up scores. All you heard about was how Manning could break Marino's Record. This year New England is on pace to break a lot of offensive records as a team, and individual players... but they are bad guys because they are running up the score.

I agree Joe,
I don't understand what all the media is complaining about, if the other team can't stop them, he SHOULD keep scoring, how would you like to play on the second team and be told to NOT score when you finally get in to play ? that said, if he continues to keep Brady out there late in blow outs and he gets hurt, they will all be thinking twice about the records.

This is one team that cannot afford to lose thier QB, nor can Indy for that matter.

Are you reading the posts? Where does it say you have to hate ALL winners. For the record, I'm with you about New England. The best point you made was about the Lions scoring 34 pts. against the Bears. No lead is safe in the NFL.

Yeah I am reading the posts. I guess it just sickens me how many stupid people there are out there, that if a Stewart Scott and his ESPN cronies say New England has no class for "running the score up", anyone who is not a New England fan goes into regurgitating the crap that comes out of the media's mouths without using their own head.

After watching the NE/COLTS game yesterday it's painfully clear how much better these two teams are than the rest of the league. NE wasn't running up the score on the other teams, they're just that much better than them. What were they supposed to do? Take a knee in the 3rd quarter? Just plain scary how good these two teams are.

Speaking of scary..... Who are those guys wearing Detroit Lions uniforms, and what did they do with my team? Yesterday was the first time in decades that the Lions looked like they may actually belong in the NFL! Nice to see them completely dominate someone. Usually it's us being humiliated. The defense is finally showing signs of competence. Just about pissed my pants watching Rogers run that interception back for a TD!

The Detroit Lions - Paul says were respectable now!

Like Bilicheck said, He puts his offense out to SCORE points and his D out to stop the other team and his punter out to Punt !!!!

Look, I generally agree with the concept of "this is the NFL, if you don't like what I'm doing, stop it." But I think it's hiliarious that this quote shows up, when the fact is that he doesn' put his punter out there to punt. In the 4th quarter of the Washington game, when they were up by 40-something points and Washington hadn't scored, he went for it on 4th down not once, but twice, and Brady was still in the game way longer than he should have been.

It's still the NFL, so whatever, but it's pretty poor form if you ask me, not to mention bad coaching. One of these days someone's not going to like it enough to take out Brady's knees, and then their season will be over. It's not baseball - if the other team starts playing well, they can put the starters back in before it gets out of hand.

Yeah, I'm sure half of the other teams are running around with cameras all over the place and it's just that no one is noticing.

So Billichek gets caught, and instead of rating out anyone else who does it by stating in a press conference, "Hey, I got caught doing what is not an uncommon thing in the league", he turns it around.

Because he's just the kind of guy to help out his fellow coaches, even if it gives them an advantage over his team. Makes perfect sense.

The Colts never went for it on 4th down in a game that was out of reach, and Jim Sorgi played the entire 4th quarter in a couple of games that year.

It's obvious Belichick is pissed about the camera thing or something else and just wants to beat the crap out of every other team in the league this year. He'd score 100 if he could, and wouldn't think twice about it. I've heard interviews with some of the players basically saying that he's admitted to them that he's running it up.

If you don't believe me, wait and see what happens in the last couple games, after they've got home field wrapped up.

I have NO PROBLEM Brady being out there, with a 30 point lead in the 4th quarter, HANDING THE BALL OFF.....BUT in there PASSING, that NO ONLY is running the score up...but ALSO putting your FRANCHISE PLAYER in "target mode" more than the average QB. The defense will not go after Brady to stop him...but they will go after Brady to PUT HIM OUT......

I sure hope the Steeler's play better than the ugly uniforms they are in tonight..
That said, there have been much worse looking uni's this year, the Eagles come to mind.

Hey Jimbo... they did play good. And I like the throwback's the Steelers have worn a couple times this year!

Where is the rule that states he needs to be pulled. If he is in the game, the defense needs to do their job and stop him, or hit him hard enough to take him out and make Billichek realize he should not be in there.

Yeah, I'm sure half of the other teams are running around with cameras all over the place and it's just that no one is noticing.

If you don't believe it... your crazy. Just like when Richard Petty got caught with an extra 5 gallon fule tank hidden underneath his seat in his car. All of the sudden half of the cars in the field were pitting earlier than their average lap times for fuel. There are coaches like Herm Edwards that are the under study of Billichek. Do you think Edwards is not taping opponents sidelines himself and just keeping his mouth shut about Billichek?

Because he's just the kind of guy to help out his fellow coaches, even if it gives them an advantage over his team. Makes perfect sense.

Help the other coaches... no. But like I said before. He is not going to be a winy little bitch about it and use the blame game. He manned up, took responsibility, and said "here's my team without "cheating"... stop me". That's more than any coach in the league can do.

The Colts never went for it on 4th down in a game that was out of reach, and Jim Sorgi played the entire 4th quarter in a couple of games that year.

Once Peyton had the record, Sorgi played an entire fourth quarter.

If you want to think New England has no class for what they are doing that's your choice. It is not my job to change what you believe. I am just sick of all the robots spitting out what their leaders on ESPN and Bob Costas and Dan Marino are saying on "Football night in America".

of course they will probably lay an egg in one of the next two games to subdue the optimism here ...

I agree with what your saying here.
IF Brady goes down, so do the Pat's

You know it's coming, but I'm trying to stay in the moment.:D

Maybe, .... well see, could happen this w/e or next.
So IF the Bucks do lose, will thay drop a few spots like LSU or out of the top 10 like others have ?

Jimbo, your Buckeyes are good, but not good enough to play in the NFL. ( I think you crossed threads here - par for the course for a Buckeye I suppose.)
