NFL 2007-08 Season

That may be it in a nutshell, my friend. How could anybody not be inspired by what Kitna did? Maybe this team just needed a leader. Even though the Eagles are floundering, this is still a big test for the Lions. A win here would be HUGE! Confidence is everything, and this team may have finally found it.

I hear ya. I think they will do good this year. The way John Kitna played Sunday inspired this team. If he did not come back in and they lost that game the season was done. But because he did that, he gained the confidence of the entire team that they can can be a contender if they follow him.

You REALLY think if they had lost last week thier season would have been done ??

Thier confidence would not be as high, but hardly done.

That is the Lions M.O. after so many season's under Millen. Once that first loss hits... its a snowball.

I agree with Joe on this one. Beating Minnesota, a team that has pretty much made Detroit their bitch for most of MY lifetime, was very important. If they had lost, what would have been different from the last few years of the MILLEN ERROR? Philadelphia is another big game (well, actually they're all big games), because this another step to proving you are a contender. Even though the Eagles are off to a bad start, they have been the among the cream of the NFC in recent years.

Why is there such a big deal about Detroit??!! I found a few people that thought the Lions and the 49ers were just about everyones sleeper pick for the playoffs BEFORE the season started. When I same them against my Raiders, I was shocked how a team LOADED offensively like the Lions could NOT win 10 games.....plus the addition of a offensive minded head coach that has finally decided to use all those wide receivers has to help. Personally, if they DON'T win at least 8 or 9 games...with THAT offense, they would be a HUGE disappointment.....

Why such a big deal? They have only won one playoff game in 50 years, (not counting the 1957 championship). Everything else you said about the team is on the money. Yet somehow, they always end up a HUGE disappointment. The reason you read so much about them here is the same reason the Tigers thread is so popular, a lot of the people posting here are Tiger's and Lion's fans. That plus, I got no one else that will listen to me at home. (They're smart!)

Please! You can't build up the Raiders by saying they lost to the HUGELY TALENTED Detroit Lions. That ain't gonna fly.

"Just about everyone's sleeper pick to make the playoffs"? Even the Detroit papers best prediction was 8-8. There'll be a parade in Detroit if they make it to 8-8.

Lame at best, I know that my Raiders are nowhere near a .500 team, so THIS Raiders fan thinks with his head....not with his heart. I have never gotten too exited about wins or losses as sports fan. But, then again....my team has never been seen "as the best team in the Big 12 in 20 years"....to get slapped around in the conference championship......;)

I counter YOUR dig with a dig of my own.....:D

Ah yes, the Raiders are lucky not to have high expectations to live up to. :D

3 Super Bowl....76, 83 and 90. Went in 2003 and got beat pretty good. If I am not mistaken, you have been posting like a Lions fan? Is that not true?

1990? I don't think so.

Raiders were in Super Bowls II, XI, XV, XVIII, XXXVII
