NFL 2007-08 Season

17 minutes??? REALLY??!! What was the half time score...? We were OUT of it for less than a quarter....but you are so excited that you won a game that it might be clouding your memory. I have a firm grip of reality where I don't make a big deal of up or downs....we played bad enough to lose and you had to fight for your life against the team with the worse record in the league.
So seeing that you WANT to rub it it.....don't get your panties in a knot....it is one game....you are not going to w
in the division nor make the playoff like us and I would not be surprised if your record at the end is no different than the Raiders....but you never know...look at the quick turnaround of the Jets....very dog hits the lottery once...and your dog is due I guess....

That's what we do here, isn't it? You lost, we won. See you in the super bowl:D

Looks like Cleveland held on to win.

My God...what the hell happened to the defense for either team? At least Cleveland can claim consistency on their behalf. Not sure what the heck was the Bengals problem.

I hope the Bungles defense is that bad when the Steelers play them.

Bengals have not had a D* for several years now, thats what cost them last year.

Ah....once again, my Raiders snatch a loss from the jaws of victory! And for the 2nd week in a row, it was the special teams(field goal team,) and ESPECIALLY the QB play. WHEN is Kiffin going to realize the McCown is NOT a starting QB. WHY hasn't Culpepper played AT ALL??!! With a legit QB starting, the Raiders could be 2-0......oh well, such is life and my weekly broken heart.:(

I thought for sure the Raider's had it won with the late FG, then the TO.
Such a perfect kick the first time.
Second kick , not so great.

Raider's and Lion's may still end up battling for the 1st pick by the time it's all said and done, Raider's would win the tie breaker when it gets to the head to head, but thats along way from now !
Lions STILL need to improve drastically on the D side of things ... and the Offesive line.

I actually thought the Lions played pretty well on defense. If they had lost it would have been on JT O'Sullivan (the JT stands for Junk Throwing). I wonder if Kurt Warner is available? As for the number 1 draft pick, I said somewhere here that the Lions were an injury to Kitna away from going 2 - 14. As for the offensive line, I'm not impressed with their run blocking. They seemed to give Kitna enough time to throw. How about Kitna, anyhow? This guy gets his bell rung, and comes off the bench to lead them to victory, picking u a couple of hard hits along the way. Great heart. BRAVE heart. They better find a running game soon, or the bubble will be bursting, along with any hopes of respectability. The bottom line is that this team has displayed some heart in coming back last week, and FINALLY beating Minnesota, a team that has owned them for pretty much my whole life. This ain't last years Lions. Look for them to play Phili hard next Sunday.

DETROIT LIONS - ON THE ROAD TO RESPECTABILITY?

DETROIT LIONS - ON THE ROAD TO RESPECTABILITY?

Great post!

I am a life long Lions fan. And your right about Kitna. The man is a warrior, and Sunday he proved that and has the utmost respect from the fans. As of right now he can do no wrong, and he is playing like it. For to publicly predict 10 wins in the pre-season based on his play last year, is gutsy. But his play thus far this year is reason enough they will get to 10 wins. he had 240 passing yards sunday, and he missed half the game! He is hitting 7 different recievers in each game. He has totally adapted to Martz's system, and looking like Kurt Warner when he was with St. Louis!

I always liked Kitna. In his days with Seattle in his sophomore season, I said he could be the next Brett Favre. He had more fumbles lost and an average QB rating, and his touchdown to INT ratio was not as good as you like to see in a QB... but neither is Brett Favre's. That's because they both want to win so badly their play aggressively. Kitna's 2003 season with the Bengals was a great year. He had a high QB rating and great numbers across the board. Then he got demoted to backup.

I think he will have a career year based on what we are seeing thus far. I am waiting until I see them play the Eagles this Sunday though. The Lions M.O. for the last 7 years is they come out and start the season good, but after their first three games, the real Lions show up.

But right now that "funk" that has been hovering over the Lions organization appears to be gone. The entire team seems excited, they are cheering for each other, they get fired up in critical situations. If they can keep all of that going and not start the slippery slope down to a high draft pick, this could be a dangerous team in the NFL.

And Kevin Jones is reported to be taking 20-25 snaps next week!

How about the NFL season so far!

Washington is 2-0, Detroit is 2-0, Philly is 0-2, Louisiana is 0-2, San Francisco is 2-0, and St. Louis is 0-2.

The only teams performing to expectation is Indy, New England, Pittsburgh, and Oakland!

Moss and Brady are proving they are a force to be reckoned with. Stephen Jackson so far is all bark and no bite. Ladanian Tomlinson is statically one of the worst rushers in the league so far. Payton is Payton, and Eli still is not!

Anyone else enjoying this season so far?

You can add Roethlisberger to the list of "Playing Well".

btw, if you passing out Peyton and LaDanian's I'll take one of each. (not allowed to have more than one per team.)

So should I take the Lions in my pool this week? All picks are even up (no spread). Ah, the hell with it, I'm going to take them. The Lion's disease has crept back into my brain. Footnote: The last time the Lions started 2-0 was 2 seasons ago, they lost to the Eagles in week 3. This is a different Lions team though. Instead of collapsing late in the game, this team has learned how to close the deal. If they develop a running game, they could, dare I say it, become a contender for the division title. Chicago has not impressed me so far. Green Bay could be for real though. The disease is running rampant through my brain.

I hear ya. I think they will do good this year. The way John Kitna played Sunday inspired this team. If he did not come back in and they lost that game the season was done. But because he did that, he gained the confidence of the entire team that they can can be a contender if they follow him.
