NFL 2007-08 Season

They both suck.

I don't know about the Browns...by my Raiders, though not very good, has shown gradual improvement every week...I like the future of the Raiders. We hit rock bottom last year...new attitude this year...new blood...fresh ideas and optimism....So you can say your Browns suck and all the negatives that accompany that word....but my Raiders don't suck....they are just not good...YET....;)

Steelers and Ravens go down today and the BROWNS win ....
No word on Cincy as to which team will show up tomorrow ...
Could be a quite interesting season for the AFC North.

It's only one game in a long season...but the Steelers are still in the drivers seat.:D

HOW about my Raiders!!!:up I was there was PROUD to wear my Kenny Stabler throw-back jersey!!!

Did you stay away from the lightning?:D Maybe Joey Porter will learn not to make guarantees on winning games...that must be embarrassing on his part:D. Maybe the Steelers knew something when they released Porter.

I'm not worried about this loss, just that there were alot of opportunities to win it and did not take advantage of them.

Special teams break down for 7
Roethlisberger throws a pick in the endzone
Team did not run today

Give Arizona's D* lots of credit.

Where was the Offense we saw in the last 5 minutes of the game, had they opened it up earlier they probably could have won this game.

Funny thing was....I was caught in a rain storm BEFORE the game so I was running late...PISTED that I might miss the opening kick-off, but the delay help. ALL I know is that we have EQUALED last years win total in 4 games. Too MANY, I know it ain't saying much...but when you see the disarray the team was last year and the DIFFERENT TEAM this year....it is like night and day.

By the way Cy, I see the games every Sunday at my best friends house who happen to be HUGE Steelers fans. I thought Pittsburgh looked a tad slow, but at the same token...I think the Cardinals won that due to being psyched to play the Steelers. I REALLY doubt Arizona will play THAT well all season and Pittsburgh will play that bad all season as well....

I think you may be pleasantly surprised by the end of the year and see how many wins your Raiders have . I think the coach has had a calming influence, another good choice.

As for the Steelers, playing without thier best receiver had to have an effect as well (Hines Ward), thier main Go to Guy.

Agreed jimbo. My only worry after the loss yesterday, is how Mike Tomlin responds in practice this week. Will he be a hard-nosed, no crap, take responsibility for your actions kind of guy like Cowher was... or does he play the cool mac daddy guy like he has allowed his image to become.

To me I miss the excitement Cowher had on the sideline. He got up in guys' faces when they made critical mistakes. Yesterday Tomlin was smiling and cracking jokes with Roethlisburger when he came back to the sideline after throwing his first pick in the end zone of all places. I never like to see a coach who is more of a "friend" with the players than a coach.

On the otherside of life, the Lions get a lot of props from me for over coming their usual habit of not beating a decent team after getting spanked the previous week. They put 34 points on the board in the fourth quarter... a franchise record. And everyone contributed to those points. Special teams, offense, and defense. They are carrying a lot of momentum into next week when they face Washington on the road. I still would like to see the entire team play an entire game. And for crying out loud, will someone on the offensive line please step up and give Kitna more time? I find it hard to believe he remembers his name on Monday mornings the way he gets railed on from the defense.

YUP.....I mentioned that yesterday..Hines Ward IS there goto guy....yesterday's win was truly emotional due to some bad blood on the part of the Cardinals....like I said, I HIGHLY doubt the will play that well all season.

As far as my Raiders, I was predicting a 6-10 season and HOPING for 8-8...and I will stick to that prediction....cannot get too excited. We could EASILY be 4-0....bust as my buddy use to say...."shoulda, coulda, woulda...and if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle....."

....GOD, I love that line....LMAO!!

I didn't understand why Cedric Wilson didn't start instead of Nate Washington, Wilson is a proven WR. Plus Troy and Hampton getting hurt didn't help, but they should of still played better.

How about those Lions? Or these Lions? What Lions are they? I don't how many they will win this year, but they sure are fun to watch. Took the offensive line 3 quarters to finally block somebody, and then the fun began. Fine defensive effort, they seem to be an opportunistic type of defense, in that turnovers seem to be the key to their success. (Along with terrible QBing from the opposition.) They will definitely pass last seasons win total, now that they have secured 3 wins already. Now if they can stop a good QB, I will be ready to call them "respectable". In the mean time, it sure beats losing.

DETROIT LIONS - PAUL'S ALMOST READY TO CALL US RESPECTABLE!

I think the jury is still out on the Lions. I think they have a very entertaining team in a very weak division. I mean they gave up 56 points to a team that does not have that many weapons. They beat EITHER an overrated team in Chicago or a team that was a fluke last year that STILL has no offense and got WORSE defensively. I think it is STILL to early to rate anyone unless you are the Patriots and the Colts. The Cowboys are undefeated but have not really beaten anyone...next week is their REAL test when they play the Patriots.

Yes, they are a very respectable team....HOW GOOD are they? Time will tell.
But I must admit, the Lions and especially Kitna, are fun to watch.

That's exactly what I mean. Who are these Lions? Are they for real, or not? I need to know, my weekly pool depends on it. Last year I could just circle them as automatic losers and I was right 13 times. This year I've been taking them to win every week, but I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop. (It did in Philadelphia). What about Washington, can their QB throw? Who is their QB, anyhow? I still don't think the Lions can defend against a good passer, so the question remains - Can this guy throw?
