NCAA Football 2011-2012

Just saw that VT barely got by an unranked UNC. Should they go down in the rankings because of that???

Well I'm wind burnt from that game...man was that stuff blowing!!

Good game! UNC always plays hard and it showed. Should VT move well I guess that depends on what happens with the other teams around them in the BCS. Issue here is they still won but the defense just relaxed on them at the end and the win favored UNC with a direction change in the 4th Quarter so of course they came back like they did.

But to say UNC dominated this game...hell no VT did for sure. Everyone is still shrugging shoulders about the opening play of the game for VT, no idea what happened there but I guess they like spotting 7 points - typical.

AT HOME no less?! LMAO!

At home..yes, who won that anyway? Ohh yeah VT did - same ones and same place Miami lost ;)

No. But if UNC would've been ranked #2, yes.

Now you just being silly! rofl

But anyways....back to my warming up and tending to my burnt nose.

So win at home by 3 against an unranked team. No drop, maybe depending on what other teams do.

Win on the road by 3 against the number 2 ranked team and the nations top defense. Deserves a drop for sure.

SO, should Plummer Tech drop in the polls because they BARELY got by a vastly inferior opponent AT home? OR does this not count in your assessment of the BCS standings?

It is what it is..but they won't drop - if you watched the game VT clearly dominated even the time of pos showed that. The only reason I suggested LSU drop was from the results of Okl St and being in their position..the teams around VT won't factor into something like that and again that was #1 and #2....completely different circumstances no matter how much I HATE LSU or can't stand Alabama it remains to be seen that's what the voters are giving out.

I'm not sure who you are talking about here... who is Plummer Tech? Are you mad?

I mean I don't get it salsa? VT played a good game and WON.. I was there I froze my ass off watching it and still have burnt lips from the wind.... horrible to do much of anything which ESPN clearly pointed out (Yeah I rewatched it from a recording I made) the wind was bad.... you say alot of times luck has alot to do with it well if that's the case the biggest gaining yards UNC got was lucky from the wind dropping its 30-40gusts at the right time. It hurt them at the wrong times so let me point that out... note the FG attempts. Their kicker isn't that great anyway backup I believe so they had their chance and lost.

Now VT gets to sit back and wait for UVA to get spanked around the field by Florida State before they can handle them on home turf next week... 3:30pm next sat so tune in mr roll eyes.

BCS proposes only handling national championship game, sources say - ESPN

Looks like the BCS is looking at severing all ties with the bowls and solely working on the #1 vs #2 game and bidding it out to whatever stadium site wants to pay for it.

Delany makes postseason proposal - CBSSports.com

Another article on possible changes to the BCS format. I personally like this. Set up #1 and #2 and then let the bowls get the best matchups via aligning the conferences with bowls.

The smaller conferences and the Big East and ACC won't like it because the bigger bowls will go 4 or 5 deep into the Big 12, SEC, Big 10 before they start looking elsewhere.

Smaller conferences and the "little" East more like it.... the ACC has been doing very well in the BCS spots being in at least the top 15 of the polls vs last year for example of the Big East with an Unranked UConn playing against Oklahoma in the Fiesta bowl...at least VT was ranked 14th when they played stanford and although stanford won big it was still a good match up.

This plan sucks worse than the current way it's done ...as I stated a while back and not cause I'm a fan of a team in the ACC or anything like that I'm looking outside the box here...but if you do this new way it only puts a unfair advantage or Monopoly with certain conferences based on bias voting and we all know it happens.

At least all the bigger bowls will be worth watching again, and worth the ticket. Watching those less talented AQs get waxed in a major bowl is worse than watching #1 and #2 play to a 6-6 tie and go into OT for a 3 point win. ;)

Speaking of tickets to these bowl games... is anyone else sick of seeing them sell out of tickets aside from say 10K to each school ahead of before the teams are even in them is decided??? Wasn't the bowl game that is in Jerry World sold out before the season even started?!? I mean WTF!? The ACC Title game for example sold out weeks ago before even Clemson got the Atlantic Div... I swear something is wrong with a corp can go in like stub hub and buy all those tickets and inflate the prices over retail.

Now I wouldn't go that far. I have heard there is more to offense than just having a field goal kicker.

That's what the Cotton Bowl at Jerry's World told Texas this week. Either beat K-State or eligible or not, you will not be in consideration for the Big 12's cotton bowl spot. Since it is already sold out they will be looking for the best match up and not who can fill the most seats.

The universities get stuck with the worst tickets, which they and the conference have to pay for whether they can sell them or not. Most fans can go online and find better seats from other vendors for the same or less money.

In case anyones interested, the Toledo Rockets are on TV again tonight on ESPNU ...
They are the ones that scored 63 and 65 points in back to back TV games the last few weeks ....
Heres hoping they found a new D coordinator in the last week, they LOST one of those games.

Cyclones playing great and the Pokes are sluggish. Days events didn't let the Pokes pregame go as normal and I think a lot of looking forward to the Bedlam game. Hope this doesn't end up like ou/ttech. Bama's odds are getting better:(

Big East Expansion?

When will Ohio State get the final resolution from the NCAA?
