NCAA Football 2011-2012

A bad day is losing by a td or two.. Not 23 to 3 on your home field.. VT is not that good. facts are facts. They play 1 ranked team Clemson and got destroyed. The rest of the teams VT has played have been no bodies. Teams that will be lucky to play in the johns highschool outback western belt smith bowl....

Yeah it was a bad day... I was there you don't have to argue with me on this. VT never got off the bus in this game as I've seen MUCH better results out of them no matter ranked team or not. It's not VT's fault teams like Miami and GT lost their rankings ahead of them playing them...you can chaulk that up to media hype.

Media hype for who? VT or Miami and GT? Could it be that ALL three were OVER hyped?

Boise could probably beat FLA this year. Without even trying.. They'd probably lose to Auburn and Stanford though.

See this is possible but you stick BoiseSt into a schedule where they play a Good team..then another Good team then ANOTHER good team week after week after week like all these other teams and YES I'm including a schedule like VT's cause these ACC teams are 2x better than 75% of the teams Boise St has on its schedule then you have to deal with loss of Depth from injuries and guys just flat out tired! I'm Sorry but the writing was on the damn wall when Boise St has to take a week off after playing the only GOOD team they have on their schedule (Georgia) to recover before playing any more games.

You can argue this till you're blue in the face but facts are facts... I think everyone here can agree if they played good teams weekin and week out then they couldn't hang and at this point its all speculation otherwise.

Sure all 3 are media hyped every week in some form or another...blame that on the nice fat ACC/ESPN TV contract but what can you do?

I think you get what I'm saying - the rankings for any team shouldn't have been in place till after week5 anyway....this pre-season numbers is all hype to get viewers and ratings.

Wait they lost there rankings because of Media hype? How about they GOT the rankings because of hype and LOST it because they suck?

Of course VT looked better in games other then Clemson.. Because those teams are WORSE then VT. its easy to look good against bad teams, hell even a bad FLA looked GREAT against Kentucky... Hell They looked like a national title contender against Kentucky.. But when they played a good team, like LSU, Alabama and Auburn we got our ass kicked because we are a bad team this year. Does not mean my blood changed from Orange and Blue just means we suck. Same can be said for VT, except that VT only plays 1 good team this year so it is hard to judge them.

Boise St, is in the top 3 in the ACC and would compete for the ACC title for at least the last 3-4 years. They would certainly put on a better show against Clemson then VT did.

Yes, and they had their backsides handed to them. All this talk of Boise St. only having to prepare for one good team, at least they beat that team. When's the last time VT beat a team that was decently ranked at the end of the season? If sure wasn't Stanford last year.

Hate to say it, but they probably win the ACC the last 3-4 years. I hate sucking, can't wait til we're respectable again. So when does BBall start (now I know how the UK fans feel :p ).

Really... Vt got beat and beat bad at the Clemson game, thats no secret I was there I saw it - the REAL team never got off the bus but since then the team has started to shine. Now add a ton of injuries from all the good teams they are playing and the Defense is starting to hurt. You don't see this problem with Boise St cause they don't play hard teams back to back week after week - sorry but that's a fact.

Been a few years since VT's taken down some top 10 teams...no hiding that fact last one was BC I think ranked #4 back in 2007 maybe a few others I'm just not sure. And yes as I've said several times they got beat and beat bad by Clemson..exposed alot of issues that I think are addressed, now the Defense is hurting from losing players to injuries so I'm not sure what will happen down the road...guess we shall see.

Truth is I have no respect for Boise St till they get into a dog fight every week against good teams and regardless of what YOU say...the ACC is full of good teams. Hell it wouldn't surprise me if they went to Atlanta and got beat by a GOOD Gt team.... they may have lost two games in a row to UVA and Miami but they are still a good team to play, always a hard opponent.

West Virginia leaving Big East to join Big 12

West Virginia will join the Big 12, according to official in the Big East who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the move.
The Mountaineers would fill the spot vacated by Missouri when it jumps to the Southeastern Conference. Though Missouri hasn't formally withdrawn from the Big 12 just yet, that announcement appears to be a formality.

The move by West Virginia will leave the Big East on life support with just five football-playing members committed to the league. Syracuse and Pittsburgh have been accepted to the Atlantic Coast Conference.

wow.... wtf!

Ya know now unless the Big East joins with the MWC and ConfUSA then they are done... and this is what they are doing.

The commissioners of the Mountain West Conference, Conference USA and the Big East Conference are planning to meet, a commissioner source with knowledge of the meeting said.

The three conferences are considering the possibility of creating a nationwide football superconference of 28 to 32 teams, with the goal of gaining an automatic Bowl Championship Series qualifying bid, according to multiple reports.
