NCAA Football 2011-2012

Here's the NCAA's statement on the Newton issue:

After conducting more than 80 interviews, the NCAA has concluded its investigation into Auburn University. The NCAA enforcement staff is committed to a fair and thorough investigative process. As such, any allegations of major rules violations must meet a burden of proof, which is a higher standard than rampant public speculation online and in the media. The allegations must be based on credible and persuasive information and includes a good-faith belief that the Committee on Infractions could make a finding. As with any case, should the enforcement staff become aware of additional credible information, it will review the information to determine whether further investigation is warranted.

So, there not saying it didn't happen, just that Auburn had more time to cover it up. :D

Hmmm, why was it that they spent all that time investigating the Buckeyes with a fine tooth comb when they brushed over the Newton one.
They can say they investigated for 13 months, but were they investigating, or thinking about it ...

What they're saying is it's OK to do a Pay for play proposal, as long as you don't leave a paper trail.

How's that Miami investigation going ?

Don't forget Auburn at the time was the NCAA's darlings, winning the MNC game with a "Suspended for 1 day QB".
How can you be suspended if NO ONE knows about it.

The NCAA can do whatever they want, they have NO ONE looking over them to see if what they are doing makes any sense of is as much as the previous one.

The NCAA is LAUGHABLE.

Who said they brushed over the Newton one? They spent over a year on it, and trust me, while Ohio State might have gotten greater coverage up there (go figure), the Newton scandal got more down here (again, go figure). When it comes to coverage on ESPN and similar sources, maybe you dont remember last season as well, but the Newton story was an every week thing.
It seems to me that they spent just as much energy going after Auburn, Auburn simply didnt get caught with enough provable evidence. I am not saying they didnt do anything wrong, I am just saying the NCAA did not have enough to go on.

You have proof of this conspiracy you speak of?

You have proof of this conspiracy you speak of?
He has as much proof as the NCAA does against Auburn & Cam. ;)

Which is why they are getting off easy.

Ohio St. was getting off easy too (with deferred penalties), until proof (the emails) came out about the coverup.

As in court, it's never what happened, it's what can be proven.

They weren't looking very hard in the ohio st. case either, until the guy went public about the emails and revealed the coverup and tressel's lies.

AP Source: Big East, Boise must be persuaded - College Football - Rivals.com

The Big East is considering adding Boise State football to help bolster the conference's chances of retaining its BCS automatic bid, though both sides still need to be persuaded that it's the right move.

A college football official, who spoke Thursday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the Big East's plans, says some Big East presidents are resisting adding Boise State and the school itself has reservations about joining a conference in flux.

Because if any school fits geographically into the Big EAST, its a school in IDAHO.

Not much worse than Conference USA. How far is it from Central Florida to El Paso?

Difference is, one is called Conference USA and one is called Big EAST. :D

I know in the world we live in today, it makes little difference. Hell the Big 10 has 12, and the Big 12 has 9 or 10 depending on which day it is or which message board you read, but it is getting ridiculous when you are named "EAST" and you are trying to add a school from one of the most western sitting states in the nation.

Well, they could change their name to Big COUNTRY, and their theme song could be, "In a Big Country", by none other than Big Country!

OTHERWISE, it's just laughable......those poor Big East guys grasping at thin air......(literally)

If you haven't heard they are trying to get Air Force from out here also.

Plus eastern Carolina and central Florida, navy turned them down once TCU left.

Then again, NFL's Dallas Cowboys play in the NFC EAST

Big East Expansion?

When will Ohio State get the final resolution from the NCAA?
