NCAA Football 2011-2012

The Refs were picking on both sides..that unsportsman like BS call on VT was after harris was standing over the guy and mouthing off in his face when he threw the ball up out of frustration. As for the ref in the way..they are part of the field can't help that...but dude I was there and it was SUPER LOUD when Sandman kicked in at the end there.... heard we busted a record of db for the stadium from the crowd getting into it!! Metallica even made a special message to VT at the start of the game - was PURE AWESOME!! Miami played a damn good game nothing to complain about really.

It called catching the guy that retaliates, it happens all the time. He was stupid to throw the ball at Jacory....and more stupid to do it infront of the ref on top of that.

Who mentioned anything about the ref being in the way? And yeah....bad BOTH WAYS, you are complaining about the refs? Try 10 to 5 in penalties...but the penalties did not do us in, it was the coaching staff playing that GOD awful drop-back-zone that killed us. When the U played a match-up when they could send more than 4 in, the QB was rushed. But they only did that 5 times the whole game. The Hokies won...barely.

No offense, but VaTech is not that impressive. The U offense was gutting that defense to pieces....hell, they are one over throw from Jacory to a WIDE OPEN Streeter running down the middle of the field with :30 left to play from coming back to win the game.

Somestimes, it's just better to be lucky than good....today, the Hokies were lucky.

Braxton got hurt and Boeserman came in and they didn't move the ball anymore or score for that matter.
Thats PART of it.

Yeah, I know about all of the parts to football, defense too. ;)

Too bad Braxton went down. He looks to be the real deal. Gonna be fun to watch.

Jacory was mouthing off.. plain and simple and yeah our player did wrong too so it should have been flagged on both players IMO.

As for VT not impressive...nope they weren't 100% that's for sure..the defense allowed over 500 yards and that's not good so things will need to be adjusted. #6 for Miami was a really good runner for this game! As for luck... it was just how the game was played out -luck is speculation ;)

But once again the hokies took down Miami in a good game... you can't complain salsa they played a good game!

LMAO, for mouthing off??!! Every football game at every level would takes 12 hours to play an 90 penalties each....

Oh yeah, luck never comes into play when it comes to sports. LOL! Over throwing a wide open guy heading into the endzone with nobody around the WR and no pressure on the QB with :30 left in the game luck??!! The U's offense did everything it wanted and needed, the defense did not. I complain because the defensive coaching staff did not prepare this team adequately. I knew and every U fan I was around knew the VaTech QB was gonna keep the ball for the 4th down play that ended up being the winning TD.

Yep... That's what everyone around me in that stadium knew also. You put a 6'6 260lbs QB with the ball and have the back block for him a little and the front line open up the middle and he's gone...even running over a few guys with that size he has! Logan Thomas is legit! 23 for 25 throwing over 310 yards with 92% completion is best in FBS right now!

But dude Miami played a good game..one of the best I've seen in that stadium aside from Nebraska a few years ago which to me is still #1. But it sure was the loudest I've ever heard that stadium get to. Logan was coached good too.. he had both Bryan Randall and Tyrod on the sideline talking to him before that last drive.

I am going to say that overthrowing a wide open receiver is NOT luck for the other team. I dont care when it happened in the game. It is NOT luck for the other team. It is not luck period.
It is piss poor execution on the team trying to make the pass.

Damn it salsa, you have me "defending" Va Tech.

I didnt see the play in question, so If I am misreading your post, my apologies.

I have seen QBs have balls slip out of their hands on over throws, under throws and fumble with no one around them to cause it.

There are times the defense puts so much pressure on the QB that it causes him to throw early and that causes a lot of drop passes, it's not luck or bad execution by the QB its IMO a damn good defense.

That is true, it can be good defense as well. In any case I dont consider it luck

That's just it Cy...he had NO PRESSURE on him when he made that throw. But, Smith has opinion and I have mine. Personally, I think that when a QB has pressure, he tend to under throw it because I have noticed they throw awkwardly and off the wrong foot. When he over throws a WR with little to no pressure on him, to me, that ball slipped. But that is me...

The U's defense was horrible and they should have won it. Their 3 loses are by a total of 15 points and literally all coming on the last play of the game.

Try being a Pitt fan. :(

If your talking about that 3rd down pass ( I watched game again yesterday - to get even more fired up from sandman :D) then that receiver had 3 defenders around him and one of them had his hands all up in that ball...hardly no chance at that ball being caught unless you count a interception cause that's what almost happened. But as said...no luck just good football....it was a great game dude if you had been there you would have thought the same!

Going to have to call you out on this one dude.... as I said I WAS THERE... and if you watched this on TV there is NO WAY you saw anyone running down the middle of the field with 30seconds left on the clock... go to 26mins on this video and you can clearly see they stayed on the front lines with the camera.

2011: Virginia Tech vs. Miami: Hokie Highlights - YouTube

Again I WAS THERE.... Miami had man coverage from VT's defense during that last drive as Bud only brought 4 up front and that alone had enough pressure in Jacory's face to make him get rid of the ball...not luck just good defense (finally)

Ohh yeah...don't forget to watch the beginning... Metallica's special message to the Hokies at about 1:30!! :D

ROFLMAO! As soon as the content on ESPN video highlights is available....we will see.

My mistake...we was not SO wide up....but he had one man to beat and he over threw him. IF the man catches him, Miami has the ball at around the 15 yard line.

Look at 27:30 of the video....

But alas, the Hokies won.

Bummer. QB had good protection. A decent pass would easily have hit the receiver in stride, and given Miami an excellent shot to tie it. That looked like an LSU QB out there. ;)

It is what it is... Offensively, Miami played great. When your offense puts up AT LEAST 24 points...you should win. They put up 35 points....

Big East Expansion?

When will Ohio State get the final resolution from the NCAA?
