NCAA Football 2011-2012

I'm severely dating myself, but I remember back in the 70's when Southern Cal was playing Georgia Tech. Of course they defeated the Yellow Jackets. The next day, this kid in my class in school, with the thickest southern accent imaginable, said about the Trojans,"of course if they had been playing the Buuuuuuuuuuuuulldawgs it would have been a different story." Well,I've been saying that all night watching Boise State play Georgia, then I add at the end,"oh wait, they are playing the Buuuuuuuuuuuuuulldawgs." What an interesting game with the Broncos ahead 14-7.

Nice that the information was given on the TV channel that it was on.

Yea real nice of them to do that, I did not think had another "Heidi"'moment was that the movie they played as the CBS football game was on. Maybe a scroll on the bottom on the screen like this "yes we are showing a real crappy move right now for the game turn to versus"

By the way....the movie they showed was a stupid cheese fest flick

Notre Dame football has gone the way of Boxing and Horse Racing. It's time to either join a conference or be irrelevant, if they aren't already.

But the game wasn't any better !

We should have known to check other NBC affiliates.
We'll no now for later in the season.

Man,Boise State is proving right now that they are more than just their blue turf. They're ahead 28-7 now.

Well lets think about this a moment...what are they really proving here? They prove that they can take all off season and prepare for 1 BIG GAME just like they did last year against VT and barely winning that one. Georgia like many other teams prepare for a SEASON as being in the SEC isn't no pc of cake.. same was with VT. Boise St has NOBODY left on their schedule except for TCU but we all saw what Baylor did to them....so IMO their ranking should be falling each week no matter how much they win by. Georgia on the other hand winning more and more games helps them which is lame but what can you do... I just don't think Georgia was focusing on this game more so trying to look ahead to conference games such as S.carolina next week. S.Carolina was doing the same thing playing against ECU whom looked to be pretty good this year.

But once again we have ESPN and others talking about BCS Buster Boise St... whom will slipup at some point and get beat by a nobody team but for now that's all we will hear..blah blah blah.

And I call BS.

Georgia has been talking about the Boise St. game since last year. They were preparing for it and not looking ahead. Everyone in the Bulldawg nation was looking forward to Boise St., in order to put them in their place. Guess what, it didn't happen.
Also, Boise St., UGA, and VT all had the same amount of time to prepare (the entire off season). Face it, your Hokies and my Dawgs were shown their place by the Broncos, and the Broncos showed they can compete.

btw, it wasn't Boise St. that lost to a "nobody" team last year (Nevada was ranked at the time), that was VT losing to a Div-1AA team.

And while I'm an SEC fan, the fact is that Georgia actually has an "easy" schedule this year in the East. Vandy, Kentucky, and Tennessee aren't exactly powers. Their perm. opponent from the West (Auburn) is rebuilding. And they drew Old Miss & Miss. St in rotation from the west. So other than UF and USC, what games are they concentrating on?

I don't consider Boise to be a Cinderella anymore, they've been knocking on the door for awhile now.

I agree with Derwin, Georgia had all summer to Game Plan for Boise St., just like Boise did.

If you get caught looking ahead to your game with S.C. overlooking the very FIRST game, shame on you .....

Derwin, while I agree with most of this (to a point), I still say that Georgia should never have been built up as a top 25 team this year. Boise got a quality win, but this did not justify them as being on the national powers level any more than any previous win IMHO. People just see it as, "hey, they beat a top 25 SEC team", when in truth, they beat a middle of the road at best SEC team (for now, they will be back at some point) that most fans know should never have been in the top 25 at this point.

Im not sure what the problem is in Athens, but Richt better get on it, and fast, or he is gone.

They may not be "cinderella", but I certainly do not consider them a national power either.
They can compete for the few (one or two) big games that they have a year. They have proven that.
I have serious doubts that they could do it week in and week out with an SEC or Big 10 conference schedule. Boise's big game weekend is generally just called Game Day Saturday in those conferences. Held up to that standard, I feel that they fall short.
