NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

I would love to see it happen, but I don't think it'll happen.

College football fans are sick and tired of EVERY Rose Bowl showing USC- the helmets, the coach, the ANNOYING Song Girls.

USC in Pasadena is more predictable than Oklahoma scoring at least 30 points in a game.

Oklahoma can't score 30 points in a bowl game, so don't expect much when they get to the bowl game.

Oklahoma should be VERY fortunate their offense is so invincible.

The Sooners live by the sword of "let's just score a zillion-or-so points", but they'l die by the sword.

The question is "when?"

Does Oregon State's loss send Ohio State to a BCS game?

There is increasing chatter that Utah and Boise State will be matched in the Fiesta Bowl.
If that happened Ohio State would be one of the odd men out, along with one of the BIG XII's "Top 3". But if Missouri wins the BIG XII Championship all bets are off at that point.

Oklahoma is one-dimensional, but that one dimension is ridiculously good.

They can't run a lick tonight- they are VERY lucky their passing is that ridiculously good.

Does Oregon State's loss send Ohio State to a BCS game?

It gives them a chance because now only USC will go to a BSC game from the Pac Ten.
If the Boise State / Utah game comes to happen, then OSU would probably be out ...

Then again, how many top 10 teams could lose yet ?
TT won, but not convincingly like the polls like to see (a slaughter they prefer)

Will they drop some ?
I don't expect them to drop out of the top 10 of course, but if the Bucks won a game like that (they did several this year and dropped positions) lets see if the polls are consistant or they show favorites. (I'm leaning on them showing favorites)

Who else played close games in the top 10 ?
I guess Oklahoma's game was the only close game, I know they aren't going anywhere.
The others playing are outside of the top 10.

Well the inferior ACC(Which according to the analysts does not have a single good team) is now 6-4 vs the SEC. Even if they lose the bowl game, they will have a winning percentage against the heralded best conference in football. Three of those four losses were due to Florida and Alabama, who also beat everyone else in the SEC.

Get ready for a week-long media overkill of "OKLAHOMA IS THE GREATEST OFFENSE OF ALL-TIME!!"

Probably right, but if you put Florida in the Big XII with the attitude that they had to score as many points as possible every game, 60 points would be a low scoring game.

Once again, I'll pinch-hit for CharlesO on 'Random Thoughts:'

1. After seeing Oregon drop 65 on the Beavers, I can't wait to see who they draw in the Holiday Bowl- if it's Mizzou or Texas Tech, I'll be drooling over that matchup.

2. Virginia Tech is such a boring team

3. I know anders has bitched and moaned when the Tar Heels blew some games, but they have won eight this year. I NEVER thought they'd win this many games in already. What bowl game will they reach and who could they play from the SEC? (Pesonally, I see a Peach Bowl game against possibly Vanderbilt or South Carolina)

4. I graduated from Tremper High School, and their football team could have played better than Notre Dame did against USC.

5. I may have lived in Buffalo for many years, but there is NO WAY the Bulls beat Ball State for the MAC Title.

6. How badly will Navy beat Army?

7. Is there a chance Missouri could pull off a shocker in the Big 12 Title game? I have seen plenty of upsets in that game (1996, 1998, 2001)

Sabres, no offense is unstoppable. December 6th will show Florida's offense held in check. Tough, hard hitting, disciplined defense can stop any offense.

Oh dear, another 60 point NO DEFENSE game that everyone will be so excited over.

Well, excuse me if I actually like to see teams that can MOVE THE FOOTBALL.

The SEC has given me three of the dullest football games I've ever seen in my life this year:

Vanderbilt/Mississippi State, Auburn/Tennessee, and the Auburn/Mississippi State 3-2 pitcher's duel.

I want to see a football game where both teams will score at least 60 points combined, not 6!

With Texas Tech having wrapped up an 11-1 season, I was wondering:

A few months ago, a lot of you were going on and on about how Tech was a fraud.

Well, since Tech went 3-1 in their 4-week gauntlet (I know they lose badly in Norman, but think about it- EVERYONE loses there! A much-improved Nebraska team gave up 62 to OU. Keep in mind, Bob Stoops is the Bill Belichick of college football), I think it might be time to crown a new fraud.

Who's YOUR choice?
