NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Who is the most overrated team in the top 10?

Since Texas Tech has TWO statement wins, I'll assume you've found a new team to pick on.

I say USC. I don't care if they play defense like the 1985 Bears- they do not have an offense.

Previous Trojan teams could score at will, but this one has trouble. (Washington and Washington State do not count- If you put BillD against those teams, he'd look like Graham Harrell)

Well if you listen to the national media, the most overrated team in the top 10 is Alabama...there's just no way they can beat the Gators. It's a hopeless task. Just because this team is 10-0 and ranked number one doesn't count for anything...Herbstreit actually said "when Florida beats Bama, they'll play for the national championship".

Utah and Boise State, they have played Oregon and Oregon State between them, thats IT .....

So, if Florida beats Bama, he's right, they WILL play for the NC.

Ball State is 10-0.

SEND THEM TO THE BCS!

YES! The MAC RULES!!!! (Remember the MAC holds a special place in my heart as I'm a Kent St. Alumn. A few other famous notable figures that have come from KSU include: Josh Cribbs, Ben Curtis, Thurman Munson, Jack Lambert, Lou Holtz, Antonio Gates and Nick Saban.)

Needless to say, I will be rooting for fellow MAC team, Ball State from here on out. Go Cards!

The Ball State Cardinals' remaining schedule is as follows:

Big10 teams. I thought for sure Penn St. would cruise the rest of the way through that conference after getting past tOSU. Well, I still say Florida goes to the MNC (nothing against Bama - just think Florida is on a roll).

Let me say this- they WILL win a BCS game if they face an ACC or leastleftovers team (I am officially through with defending that conference!)

They can't play the Big East.

The order of selection this year is:
Rose Bowl - Big 10 & Pac 10 champs
Fiesta Bowl - Big 12 champ
Sugar Bowl - SEC champ
Orange Bowl - ACC champ
Fiesta Bowl - at large
Sugar Bowl - at large
Orange Bowl - at large

If the Feista Bowl and/or Sugar Bowl lost thier host team, then they get to pick a replacement first among the at larges available, likely they'll pick another team from their host conference.

Currently what will happen is:
MNC Game - SEC & Big 12
Rose Bowl - Big 10 & Pac 10
Fiesta Bowl - Big 12 & Pac 10 (USC if Oregon St. wins out) or Big 10 runner up
Sugar Bowl - SEC & (forced to take either Big East or non-BCS undefeated team)
Orange Bowl - ACC & (forced to take the team the Sugar Bowl doesn't want)

Since the Sugar Bowl will probably prefer an undefeated Utah/Boise St./Ball St. over a 3+ loss Big East champ, it will likely be a battle of "titans" between the Big East and ACC in the Orange Bowl, at which point the Utah/Boise St./Ball St. team will get slaughtered by the SEC runner up in the Sugar Bowl.

Random fact of the day:
When Florida plays South Carolina, it will be the first time a Heisman trophy winning player will face off against a team coached by a former Heisman trophy winner.

Random thought of the day:
If Oklahoma beats Texas Tech and OU, TTU, and UT all finish 11-1, the next-to-last release of the BCS standings on Nov. 30th will actually be more important than the final standings released on Dec. 6th. The Nov. 30th standings will determine who goes to the Big XII championship with a birth to the NC game on the line. Also, with the rule in place that no more than 2 teams from any conference can play in the BCS, it's possible that a 11-1 Big XII team ranked in the top 5 could not play in a BCS bowl.

Of course Texas Tech could solve all this by winning.
