NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

Any Florida/Georgia fans?

Almost all of us have an opinion on the upcoming Ohio State/Michigan and Texas/Texas Tech games.
The Cocktail Party may be the best game on Sat. I know that Texas and Texas Tech play too, but that game may not be nearly as interesting or competitive. There will be some fireworks in Jacksonville. Nothing like a good rivalry and the winner is almost assured of winning the SEC East, which puts them one step away from the BCS and possibly a spot in the NC. Texas-Texas Tech can't top that.

No offense, but I'll stick with a battle of UNBEATENS, not two one-loss teams.

First of all those are 2 really good one loss teams, and one loss teams can and do win NC's. 2nd, Texas has nothing to gain by beating TT. They are already the #1 team. They have already accomplished more this year than anyone else. We know they're good. Texas can only hurt themselves if they lose. TT is still a mystery. If they win it says they are good. If they lose it proves what many of us think about them, that they are posers. Even if TT wins they are just now entering the tough part of their schedule. They still have to play Oklahoma St and Oklahoma after Texas. It's entirely possible that TT could win this week, but lose those other 2 games, not win the Big XII South and not even finish the year in the Top 10.

The Georgia-Florida winner WILL be in Atlanta for the SEC CG where they WILL play Alabama. The stakes are much higher for that game.

Nobody noticed UConn is #25 in the BCS this week?

Behold our mighty 0.06 points :)

(and thank you to UVA for not sucking wind after we beat the snot out of you... on to the ACCCG! LOL )
We lose interest in the polls after 10! :p Sorry it's a long way down to #... what were we talking about again?

I'll take Florida :D

Jimbo

Same here. LSU put up 38 points on Georgia's first string defense, and LSU is very weak at QB - that's what lost them the game, with 2 ints returned for TDs and a fieldgoal off of another. Florida kept LSU pretty much in check, and the Tiger QBs actually played better against the Gators.

Florida will be able to hold Georgia's offense more than they will be able to hold Floridas. I say Floriday by 10. :up

When they talk about the "myth" of indians getting high smoking their pipes, they were speaking with a straight tongue. Kinikinick is a natural hallucinagen that grow wild in the Rockies, common name Indian tobacco. holly type leaves in a ground cover.:D

I think some of the guys/gals around here may have been smoking some of that. I'm pretty sure I have.:D

How did that name come about?

Haven't seen you in a while, jwfgeol.

Sorry about Tennessee's struggles- that was NOT a good performance against Bama!

I don't see them beating Vanderbilt or Kentucky.

It was actually known as "The World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party" until the SEC asked the networks to stop calling it that because of the message of alcohol consumption.
So dumb. As if they'll quit drinking because of that. It will always be the cocktail party.
