NCAA Football 2007-08

A great day for College football. Michigan State Fans and Ohio State fans, come together with drink in hand to discuss the biggest upset in college football history involving their common enemy!

Its a rough start for Michigan thus far! Their defense looks horrible and their offensive line is looking like they just started spring drills!

Ohio State took care of business as usual, but I am not sure about their offense for the year.

Michigan State's offense looks great, their defense does as well, they just have to play like they did today all year, which is usually hard for them to do.

The Big Ten Network had a heck of a launch this weekend!

I can't believe they got beat by a Southern Conference team.

Ohio State's offense will be good , not as good as last year , but good enough, alot of first time starters were out there today and played pretty good .. the QB Boeckman is a rookie and a junior.
The majority of the offense is new.

Don't give up on MSU so quickly, your NEW Coach is the best thing you've had there since 1980., Dantonio, of course is a Treesel disiple.

Bowling Green and Minnesota going into OT !!!! Oh, for those that don't remember, Bowling Green is where Coach Urban Meyer was prioir to Florida and Utah.

1) Nice to see UConn continue Dook's misery. And only after really showing up for the 2nd half!

2) Too bad Tom O'Brien couldn't stay at BC and help them continue to blow it. Looks like NC State gets his "coaching vision" now (nice loss!)

3) What a great day of football - App St, Cal/Tenn, just so many fun games, and a Sox no hitter for my wife!

cy - sorry I went bananas there - the ACC sends me into a lather

I was saying that it's time for Lloyd Carr to retire. Absolutely out-coached yesterday. Never has a man done so little with so much. Guys I'm sure in the end Michigan is not as bad as they looked , nor MSU as good as they looked. The only thing that's done for this season, are Michigan's title hopes. (Given my questions about the D, I wasn't as optimistic as some of my friends.)

What, nobody crowing about the Big East superteams beating up on the bottom feeders? I'll be back as soon as U of M gets done mopping the field with Div.IIa champs Appalachian State!;)

The funny thing about all of this is that I was waiting for somebody to chime in about Louisville whipping Murray State. (I didn't even know that Arthur Murray had a college- I think some of their grads were on "dancing with the stars"), and I was going to point out that whipping Dance schools was nothing to crow about. Then I realized that Michigan scheduled a similar type of tune-up. There would have been A LOT more egg on my face today. This was just sad, but I'll give credit to Appalachian, they are a very good team. Tons of speed. Easy to see how they've won 2 consecutive DIV. IIa championships. Note to DIV. 1 - They have a PLAYOFF system in DIV.II- why can't you?

Between the Lions and Michigan, I have nothing to look forward to this fall. I'm used to dissapointment with the Lions, but Michigan usually waits a few games before crushing my spirit.

Tell your team thanks Paul:rolleyes:, now all I hear from my sister is how Penn State is closer to the Big Ten title .

That's cool, it's just a debate, remember I'm a "Pit" guy, things roll off my back.:D

The path to the Big Ten title will have to roll through Michigan. This game meant nothing towards a Big Ten title. You may still have the last laugh on your sister. What the hell happened to Pitt's football program anyhow? I remember the heydays, of Dorsett and Marino.

Bad recruiting throughout the years, granted they had some good players like Revis, Fitzgerald, and Blades to name a few. But not enough good players at one time. Nobody wants to play football in Pittsburgh. The coaches have sucked since Jackie Sherrill left.

Now with Dave Wannstedt coaching, and probably in the last 2 years the best recruiting class for Pitt in a long time, there is opitisum in Pitt land. Next year is Wannstedt's fourth year at Pitt, they should be a better team(his players maturing), and they should go to a bowl and maybe have a chance at the Big East title.

ONLY the Buckeys can win handily , by 33 points and LOSE positions in BOTH polls
They were 10 and 11, now for some unknown reason they lost in both polls ...

Jimbo

The next team to take a huge drop will be Oklahoma! I have a good feeling about Miami going Norman. The offense will do just enough, but The U's defense will be the story.

Miami 21-13!

Michigan falling out of the polls is having a domino effect in the polls. Maybe the pollsters are thinking if the supposed best team in the conference got beat by a nobody (albeit, a very good nobody), how good can the rest of the conference be? If Michigan rolls over the conference, it will lower their standing even more. It will actually be better for the Big Ten if Michigan continues losing, then Michigan will be viewed as just being overrated, and the fallout on the other teams will be minimal. OR - on the other hand, beating Youngstown St. is not that impressive to the pollsters. I would blame Michigan, that's what you do in Buckeye country, isn't it?;)
