NCAA College Basketball 2011-12

Virginia Commonwealth and George Mason to the final four...leaving teams from the 'power conferences' in the dust!

Sandra

Many deserving teams don't get At-large bids, so the power conferences can get four or five teams in. But don't get me started. I'm just a mid-major guy.

That is not my point or argument. Unfairly, schools from a non-power conference, for the most part, get in the dance one way: winning their conference. Power conference school, again unfairly, get in both through at large and conference championship....giving the power conference a better chance.

sweet the Hawaii tourney starts today :)
UTEP vs. Clemson
Kansas St. vs. Southern Illinois
Long Beach St. vs. Xavier
Auburn vs. Hawai'i

Go Northern Iowa! Will never ever forger Ali Farokhmanesh!

Don't mention that school from Farifax in my presence!

no
That was the Maui Classic that was a month ago (Turkey Day Weekend)

This is the Hawaiian Airlines Diamondhead Classic. This is just a normal tourney except it happens at Christmas and involves Hawaii. The differences between the two is Chaminade is a D2 school and their arena holds like 2500 people whereas Hawaii is in the WAC and the Stan Sheriff Center holds like 10 grand. ESPN heavily promotes the Maui Classic (EA Sports is the sponsor) whereas this one is on ESPNU and surrounds the Hawaii Bowl for TV (tourney is today, tomorrow, Christmas...Hawaii Bowl is Saturday)

Farokhmanesh, Koch, the corn-fed 7 foot tall giant Jordan Egelseder, they were the bane of my existence for two seasons, including a heart-breaking loss to them in OT during the 2009 Valley Tournament. BUT during the NCAA Tournament I was their biggest fan. :D

Next Thursday we start our conference season against them. :)

The Maui Classic is always stacked, but this tournament has some pretty good teams too...although two of the better teams (Long Beach State and Xavier) are playing each other in the first round.

Then again, not sure what to expect of Xavier with the suspensions. I'm with Iceberg, though...I love late night sports!

Pitt's two good OOC games were at Tennessee and home against Oklahoma st. They did get beat by long beach state at home which won't help them.

ISU is up by 11 over Northern Iowa. The next ten minutes of play are going to fun! I hope I don't jinx it. We have lost seven in a row to the Panthers

Finally! Since losing to UNI in the title game of the MVC Tournament in March 2009, I have been waiting for ISU to beat Northern Iowa. The wait is over. Great game! 65-61.

I need a beer. That was exhausting. :)

goodbye and good riddance.

Vandy with the upset!
