NCAA / BCS Bowl Games 2011-2012

All this great offense, and yet the national title game could be a QB Derpfest.

SEC Quarterbacking outside of Arkansas- not pretty

QB derpfest maybe (although that looks to change at LSU next year with Mettenberger taking the helm and Gunner Kiel on the way). Can't say for certain that it will be a RB derpfest though, both are loaded in the backfield.

That said, I believe there is more offense in the SEC than defense in the Big12/PAC12, especially at LSU and Bama. Should be a good game regardless of the naysayers.

If you use that line of thought, OSU never got to prove how good their offense was supposed to be. Assuming you're basing your doubt of LSU's D on mediocre offenses in the SEC, you should also use that logic to discredit OSU's offense based on horrible defenses in the Big12.

Nope basing my claim on the fact OSU had the best offense and LSU had the best defense this year. But we will never know, so it doesn't matter.

OSU had a heck of an offense, no doubting that. And like Bama, just an OT from a perfect season...actually just a foot or so if I remember correctly. I agree it would have been fun to see how they might have faired in the BCSCG.

Ok I know it's in new Orleans and the teams are from Virginia and Michigan, but......it's a bcs game, the damn sugar bowl, two storied programs, and the only ticket in town. Why is it not packed? There are a TON of empty seats in the upper bowl. I'd say attendance is around 55,000. Maybe 60,000.

Another game Saturday then Monday.
Hard for even New Orleans to keep up that pace.:)

Because even they know they have no business being in a BCS bowl ;)

Ask the Sugar Bowl committee, they're the ones that skipped over K-State and Baylor because the two chosen teams had a history of packing the house.
Really though isn't this the 3rd bowl game in New Orleans, that's a lot to ask of local residents. I never have liked the idea of having two games at the same site a week apart, since they split the title game off from the actual bowl game.

Michigan outplayed for 27 minutes of the first half and leading at halftime. LOL

The bowl games are not even the BIG game in town. :)

Moving the Big Bowl games from Jan 1st and putting them during the week on work days kills attendance as well.

People can plan trips around Holiday Bowl Games, but Work Day Bowl Games are much harder to do. There's a reason the Bowls were originally during the holidays and not after.

When was the last time they beat a non-ACC BCS team?

I really wish the ACC (especially GT) would get their act back together. I'm tired of making the Big East look good.

That's why two big east teams are coming in. Frankly unless Pitt and Syracuse make themselves a better team the ACC won't improve.
