NCAA Basketball 2008-09 Season

I don't know who any of the officials were in the UConn-Gonzaga game, but I tuned in at a football time out and watched til the finish. I guess the Seattle CYO didn't have any games today and these 3 guys got the call. That had to be the worst officiating as a group that i have ever seen and I am a 62 year old sports junkie. And before anyone accuses me of crying, I am a dyed in the wool Maryland and ACC fan and could give a s%#t less about either team. I just hate seeing the officilas take the game away from the players.

How the mighty have fallen in the South.

Memphis now has more losses this season than ALL of last year!

Nice bounceback for the Cuse after that buzzer-beater.

Like I said, that was a fluke loss that NEEDED a 60-footer. Not worried about because in the grand scheme of things, that loss will HELP more than it hurt. They had played a couple of games that they were just going through the motions....coming from behind and blowing big leads. NOW they know that cannot live on the edge like that. I think come tournament time, this is going to be a very good team that WILL surprise some people.

By the way, like the avatar....? I case you didn't know....THAT is the guy that pu Syracuse basketball on the map and brought THE HOUSE down in his 1st game ever as an Orangemen....

I was even able to find the video of HOW he put the Orangemen and the Carrier Dome into the spotlight:

Big wins for UConn and Syracuse. That was an awful call in OT that fouled out Thabeet. I'm still not sold on Syracuse but that was a nice win. The BE is so tough I still think Syracuse may find itself on the bubble in March once again. Anyone who can lose to Cleveland St can also lose to garbage teams like DePaul and Seton Hall and losses like that in the BE will kill you.

Given what the Raiders have become, don't blame you for switching your avi to a guy from a winning team.

BTW, Heat are improved; what about D-Wade, who's STILL lighting it up?

BTW, anders, bit of an interesting tidbit:

my sister's boyfriend played for Evansville in the game a few days ago when Hansborough broke the UNC scoring record.

2,769 is the magic number (which broke a 51 year record) set by good ol' J.J., and I seriously doubt "Crazy Eyes" will reach it. Anything's possible, I guess. Congrats to him, though. That's one hell of an accomplishment!

Hansbrough will shatter Redick's mark. He's at 2302 points now and there's at least 25-30 games left in the season. At 20 PPG Hansbrough should finish well above 2800.

Only time will tell.

It will be close. I wouldn't call that "shattering" the record, but close.

At Tyler's current season average of 22.71 (he averaged 22.6 last year) he needs 20 more games to pass Redick. That would mean the first game of the ACC tournament. But it leaves open a chance of passing Redick in his last home game, against dook. Wouldn't that be sweet for us Carolina fans.

Also, at his current pace and if Carolina plays the maximum games that they could play this year (regular season plus 3 ACC tournament games and 6 NCAA tournament games) Tyler would score 2,962 points, compared to the 2,769 Redick scored in his career.

Barring injury Tyler will pass Redick. The question is by how much which will be determined by how far in the post season Carolina goes.

A fluke? Your precious Orangemen shouldn't of had to worry about a buzzer beater had they performed up to expectations. Your team took Cleveland St. for granted. Face it. And they lost, fair and square within regulation. No complaining.

Buckeyes Basketball squad remain undefeated (8-0).... for now.

Our junior forward David Lighty will miss 6-to-12 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a broken bone in his left foot. Huge loss for the Bucks.

Pitt is 12-0, good win over Florida State on the road.

No complaining. They won fair and square, plain and simple...BUT it was a fluke....because if they play 10 more times, the Orangemen would more than likely win all 10 or 9 out of 10. On ANY GIVEN DAY.....THAT was the day for them.
