NCAA 2013 Football Season

Do you need me to point the seasons out to you? Its not that difficult to note the last 10 years where at least a 4 team playoff would have made things at least more interesting. You actually think Notre Dame deserved to be in he NC game last year? Yeah right. Bama is good, but they were not that good, ND was just that bad. Like UF last year, they squeaked a lot of games by, and as UF when they played Louisville they were exposed. Shoulda been OK St and Bama at the end of 2011, not the joke that is LSU. Hell, you had Alabama playing in a NC game when they couldnt even win their conference. And before you go thinking I dont like Bama, remember where I live. Im just tired of the wrong teams there at the end of the year. Now let me throw my Noles in there. Win the ACC, and due to stupid deals, we play in NIU in the Orange Bowl last year, complete joke.

5th is a lot better than 3rd (granted I would have done 6) and sure it won't fix everything, but its an improvement! Teams are playing 12-14 games now, losing one conference game for a playoff, or adding a game is fine by me. We could go round and round with this and just waste time. I am GLAD we will have a 4 team playoff.
You do realize LSU went undefeated that year, with wins against then #3 Oregon, #2 Alabama, and #3 Arkansas, and they were the team that beat Alabama (in Tuscaloosa) that kept the Tide from winning the SEC conference, which LSU did win including the SEC championship game. How does that make them a joke that year?

Um, no. One has to draw the line somewhere. Thats like asking me to root for LSU, or USC...

Ok, so, if Miami (I know it doesn't happen this way, but) were to play Bama this year and a Bama loss would put your FSU team in the NC game against Oregon in most cases, you still wouldn't want Miami to win ?

Losing 21-0 in the NC game was a joke. All sorted out with a playoff. Isnt that the year you couldnt pass the 50 yard line?

I would not ever, ever, ever, root for Miami or USC. I have been known to pull for LSU.

Yes it was. Alabama had one of the best defenses, if not team, in the country that year. LSU managed to pull off the upset against them in Tuscaloosa, and were rewarded with having to face them again in the national championship. As for that NC game being a joke, I suppose Alabama did have the last laugh. It reminded me of the 1997 Sugar Bowl, the NC game that season, when Florida destroyed FSU 52-20 after FSU had just squeaked by them during the regular season. I remember Gator fans laughing at that joke as well. I laughed pretty hard at that joke too now that I think about it! ;)

We never should have beat UF in reg season to be honest because they were a helluva team. A good friend of mine is a gata fan (can't believe I admitted that) and we watched it in disbelief. I fully knew Spurrier would not lose twice. The thing about me is Im not afraid to bag on my own team either. Thats my problem with a lot of fans, they can lose to a crap team, win a close game, then think they are ready to beat Bama.

For the record, I did not mean LSU was a joke that year, the game was a joke. My opinion going in was that Lsu and OK St should have played. A team that cant even win their conference should not play for the NC IMO. At least if we had the playoff that year we may have not had to see a 21-0 game that was just a hair better than the 9-6 snooze fest.

Hmmm, good for you.

I actually should revise that. Now that Kiffin is gone, I can relinquish my USC hate death grip. I really cannot stand that dude. My main issue with Miami right now is Coley, guy bailed on us right in the midst of national signing day to be their OC last year. I wish him all the hell I hope he gets Saturday. As long as he is there, I will in no way shape or form root for the U.

I agree. Didn't mean to sound too defensive. LSU's lack of defense this year has me on edge...and next stop is in Tuscaloosa. Tune into that one if you want to enjoy a joke. ;) :D

Well, I get wound up and don't word things well, sometimes Im at work and type a post to fast then read it later and say "damn, that sounds horrible" lol

I'd probably wear purple during that game, but my wife and all my relatives are huge Bama people and the party for the game is at my aunts house. I gotta sit over there and cheer in quiet if Lsu starts winning. Im kinda stuck, I need Bama to lose or Oregon to lose. I still kinda think the Ducks may drop one, but we may end up playing Miami twice, lot of football left.

Now I just gotta watch out for Msmith...

FSU practice field today. Hurricane warning flags are flying, I love it!

Night game, Gameday is there, and I have a wedding at 3. Gonna be a party night with me leaving the wedding to find a bar to hide in.

I like your thinking ... :D
Or both !!!

The way FSU has been the last 5 years, I could be sitting here in late Nov just wishing they had made the ACC Champ lol. Granted it's getting much better, as one can see, but the last few years of Bowden ran it in the dirt. I love Bobby Bowden, but he did not do the program good at the end.

I could see arguments against bama being there in 2011, even if I don't agree with them, but how can anyone make an argument that based on the body of work that lsu shouldn't have been?

Again it's easy to look back in hindsight after the games played but they were they only team that had an iron clad lock on the claim to be there at the time they were picked.

Nah. I'm fine with the result. :D

The best teams played. I'm sure one Ok state fan might disagree, but nobody pays them much attention anyway ;)
