Really ?
What was the temp last weekend and this weekend ?
28 for the high tomorrow, thats alot warmer than next week.
However, the Big Ten Championship game is inside in Indy this year, bit that changes every few years so there will be a high possibility of playing in 20* or less for upcoming BT Championships.

A few colder weekends. it surely happens, and this weekend is one for sure. Hell, its even snowing in Memphis.
We probably have more sweltering weekends to play in than northern teams have REALLY cold.

My point was, most of the time, the teams during the regular season play in comparable conditions. Be it north or south. Yall simply seem to bring this point up more often as if its a big deal.

I think you even said last year that northern teams weren't built to play in not hot, but pleasant conditions that they have during most bowl games. I'd have to look for sure and if I am mistaken then my apologies.

Ya know, as soon as the conversation went to weather again, I knew I didn't want to go there .... again. :deadhorse:

MAC Action

(#14) Northern Illinois vs Bowling Green

7-7 after the teams 1st series.

Could be a high scoring game tonight .... espn2 for those looking for a game to watch to get your weekend started.

BG has a pretty decent team. BG dealt NIU a helping of harsh reality in that mauling. The morons on ESPN kept praising NIU and their QB and saying how NIU had beaten BIG10 teams, but neglected to say that was Purdue (1 win this season) and Iowa (not exactly a strong team this year.) The game was not as close as the final score 47-27 looks, and was surprised really about the last few minutes of the game (never seen any coach in FB call off the dogs for the last few minutes and allow other team to score before.) NIU's QB looked OK, but the BG QB looked much more accurate in passing, just not very mobile in the pocket. Will be interesting to see who BG plays in a bowl and how they match up against better competition (am thinking that may be a sleeper to watch against a big name school.)

In the grand scheme of things NIU isnt that strong, lets be honest. They can keep propping Lynch up for Heisman, whatever... I was happy to see BG put a whoopin on em.

My pics for today:

Ok vs Ok St - Go state!

Horns vs Baylor - As much as Id love the horns to win, Baylor is my pick for the win

Aub vs Mizzou - Mizzou

Stanford vs Arz St - Don't know don't care

Duke vs FSU - Really?

Mich St vs OSU - Sure, OSU's D can suck at times and Mich St has a good D, but their offense is anemic. They might slow OSU down a bit but OSU can score and I think thats enough.

I think Delany pays off the refs and they make sure OSU wins the B1G Championship. The B1G needs OSU in the National Championship this year. It may sound like a ridiculous claim but it's a real possibility.

FSU's student manager (ball boy) has quite the following this year, they made a highlight reel for him and he even got to meet Musburger recently.

He's in my classic book for the UF shove around 30 seconds LMAO

LOL.

Jimbo is gonna love you!

I really dislike OSU and I hate their coach even more but as a B1G fan I agree that it would be huge for OSU to make it to the National Championship. I fear that if they do though, they will get destroyed by the competition because they really are not as great as their record shows.

I put money on the Buckeyes today so I'll be cheering for them.

I'm indifferent about B1G teams, especially OSU. I pretty much watch ACC and SEC so I dont have time for much else. My uncle is a converted southerner/ex yankee from Bear Lake, so I pull for Michigan sometimes. His family is split down the middle between Mich St and Mich.

As far as Urban Crier, I hate the little whiney blankety blank with his fake angina... Just think about what "angina" sounds like... Granted Im not a gator supporter of course but after what he did to UF once his golden boy left (see Tebow), I have zero respect for the guy. Great coach; complete jackwagon as a person.

Actually, I'd like to see tOSU take it all the way, even though I will have to listen to my neighbor all summer long. ;) It would give the Big10 more credibility, and the conference would once again become relative in the scheme of things. It's more fun that way IMO, and the SEC looks stronger playing and beating them. :)

I also don't want to see FSU win the NC after playing such a lame schedule (go ahead...let me have it ACC fans :D ).

Yawn. Just an SEC homer way of whining about probably not having an SEC team in the NC game. Sure, SEC is arguably the strongest conference. The ACC will have 11 bowl eligible teams which aint bad and here is our current makeup for the season to date:

2013 Florida State:
Scores: 53.6667
Allows: 11
Margin of Victory: 42.6667
Top 10 opponents: 2
Top 25 opponents: 3
Closest win: BC 48-34

It's not FSU's fault some of the ACC teams are more weak. It's also not a knock on the ACC that they are destroying most teams. Lotta future NFL'ers on both sides of the ball. LSU should have avoided getting spanked by Bama and Bama should have avoided poor coaching and play in their last two games :). Going undefeated is not EASY in any conference. Everyone seems to forget Clemson beat a healthy UGA, and FSU completely demolished Clemson in Death Valley.

Next year will be much better for FSU's schedule: Ok State, Louisville and Notre Dame, as well as UM and UF.

I agree with a lot of this, but it still doesn't make FSUs SOS any better. And I'm not an SEC homer for what it's worth, although I wouldn't mind seeing Mizzou sneak in there and win it all.

I'd prefer to play Mizzou as well just because they have some big guys and I think its a tougher game. I dont disagree that FSU's schedule is more weak than any other top 5 team, but degree of victory needs to be considered. I didn't mean you were a Homer, but there is a lot of "one loss SEC team should go" whining going around. The fact of the matter is no one can say that Bama could beat FSU or FSU coould beat Auburn if they dont get to play each other. So I can't worry with it honestly, its moot.

You start looking at how Clemson beat UGA (barely), how FSU beat Clemson at home, how LSU for example has played both UF and UGA. Lets face it, Auburn's loss, Bama's loss and Mizzou's loss are not because of some grand SEC powerhouse, its because of inconsistent play. Hell, Bama looked like crap against Miss St the week before and continued looking like crap against Auburn. It's also not FSU's fault UM and UF suck this year.

Generally, when you have good teams playing so-so teams, the margin of victory can be tight at times, as well as giving up a few points. FSU has outdone the teams they played pretty much all year (except BC). Hell, in many games the 2nd and 3rd stringers have played a LOT. What I find funny is everyone loves BCS rankings until it doesnt do what they think. I personally don't care about rankings and stats (what matters is winning), I feel FSU can hang with or beat anyone you put in front of them this year, and I do not care who it is in January.

Coach Fisher had a good plan, and they are sticking to it: 1) Win the state 2) Win the Division and now they have to 3) Win the ACCCG and 4) Win the NC

I'm happy, recruiting has been great, the players I see interviewed are intelligent and they are winning awards. It's a good time to be a Nole fan.

Terrible spot and review.. Oklahoma got hosed on that one.
