NBA Basketball 2009-10 Season

3-way trade rumored

Uh oh. This throws a monkey into the wrench of Cleveland's plans for Z....

From Cavs beat...

Warning. Rumors out there that Wizards are involved in three-way talks with Miami and Utah. Ilgauskas could get traded again.

Update: Knicks land McGrady, move in part of 3-way deal

The Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady with the Knicks, according to NBA front-office sources.

The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento, sources said.

The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick.

Sacramento obtains Houston's Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey and New York's Larry Hughes.

Oh, there's a game tonight....

Denver @ Cleveland. 8pm EST, TNT

It'll be interesting to watch tonight whether there is any hangover effect for either team. Neither has played in a week. The Cavs just made a major trade and lost one of their best teammates. The Nuggets are playing after learning the news that coach George Karl has throat cancer. Jamison will be behind the bench. Oscar Robertson and Jerry West are being honored during the game. Going to be a wild night at The Q.

Celtics & Knicks reach tentative deal....

The Boston Celtics have reached a tentative agreement on a deal with the New York Knicks to send Eddie House, J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker to New York for Nate Robinson and a second player, according to multiple sources. The identity of the second New York player was not immediately clear.

Can it get done before the 3pm trade deadline? Stay tuned....

I'm baffled. The salary list I have seen showed that the Knicks total cap obligations for 2010 were only $27 million, and that included Curry's player option of $11.3 million and Jeffrey's $6.9 million player option. I thought that New York could have gotten out from the Curry and Jeffries obligations simply by paying them to not exercise their options. Maybe there was a timing problem with that. Maybe, the window for buying out a player option does not open until the free agent shopping spree has already begun, but in any case, this deal increases New York's 2010 available salary allotment by only $6.9 million. Giving up two first round draft picks for that and that alone does not seem prudent. I think they may want to sign McGrady. That way, they can spend $40 million on new stars, reaching or just exceeding the cap, and then take advantage of the fact that they can resign McGrady for $20 million over the cap since he will already be their own player.

THAT was a hell of a game played by both Denver and Cleveland.

(Everyone's talking about the Cavs and Lakers, BUT... I have a sneaking suspicion that we may see these two teams again in the NBA Finals.)

LOL LeBron looked like he was crying after the game. And as usual, he was the first one to storm off to the locker room

Helluva game. Both teams looked rusty in the first half, then the second half became a LeBron v. Melo show. The final stat line of the two:

Melo: 40 Pts, 6 Reb, 7 Ast, 1 Stl, 2 Blk :up
LeBron: 43 Pts, 13 Reb, 15 Ast, 2 Stl, 4 Blk

That shot by Melo at the end of OT was as clutch as they get. Good for them. Good to see the team get a win for coach Karl. It's probably been a tough couple days for Coach and this win was exactly what he needed to get his mind off things.

The scary part is in a year or so, after a lot of other things have happened, you'll forget most of this...and Sabres will remember every detail! :D

LMFAO! I can't come close to remembering all the games I've attended myself in the past year. :)
