MLB 2013 Season

My apologizes too, as I got a bit over the top. I'd like to see ARod gone, too, amoung many others.

A-rod is an ass and I think PED's are only about 5th or 6th on the list of why he is an ass. I hate the Yankees and Randy Levine as much as anyone, but for him to accuse them of telling a doctor to purposely screw up his hip surgery so he couldn't play again is so laughable and over the top.

Having said that, to me personally, I detest Ryan Bruan more than I ever could Arod. As a Jew, the stuff he told other people about that poor collector makes my blood boil. To accuse a man of antisemitism, just to cover your own ass is beyond disgusting it's just a thing that you don't do because it trivializes actual antisemitism.

Agreed! It will be very interesting to see how Braun's statement comes off after he completes his course at acting school.

Last night was the first Sunday night ESPN telecast I have watched all year, and I can say without a doubt that Kruk and Schilling have to be the worst color analysts I have ever seen. How many times, after Kruk or Schilling made a statement about something did Dan Schulman (who I think is one of the best PBP guys out there) have to ask, "Could you expound on that?", "What did you mean by that?", or "Could you explain what you meant?".

Their debate on who would be the first Red Sox batter to be hit in retaliation was mind-numbing. Sabathia clearly has too much class to get ejected over something as stupid as that, and you would think former players would know that...

I was looking at tonights pitching match up for game 1 of the Sox/Giants series. Jon Lester has been very disappointing since about May. But what the hell has happened to Tim Lincecum?

Quite honestly, that question can be asked re: the entire Giants team! From 1st to worst it looks like this season.

I agree, Schulman deserves a lot better than those two. I don't mind Kruk in the BT studio, but not as an analyst. As for Schilling, thanks again for '04 and '07, but I can only take so much of his blowhard ways. If Remy is once again out for an extended period ( this time because of his barely human murderer son), I can only hope NESN doesn't knock on Schilling's door. And NOOOOO Jim Rice.....more Eck please!!!

Eck is VERY enjoyable to listen to and he isn't full of himself with "Well, when I played..."

And my heart just breaks for Jerry. How much can this guy take? He may be overbearing at times and gets way off subject, but he is an enjoyable character.

Eck is doing the next 4 games on NESN than we get FOX on Saturday(Blah) and ESPN again on Sunday(Yuck).

Eck is OK in small doses, like this will be. I can only take hearing "high cheese", "punch outs", and "salad" so many times....

Agreed.

I remember when he was a player, in a post-game interview he said he was "gassed", which to him meant tired but the interviewer thought it meant drunk.

I loved the way his head swiveled as it followed Kirk Gibson's homer whizzing by. I thought his retrospective interview was great, too. "I thought, 'OK, I'll pitch to the cripple!' "

Correct! That rivalry has been water down drastically. It's over exposed. It was good when less games were on TV, but with all the cable channels showing games.... It just has become too much.

Part of the problem is that they changed the division schedules to where they play one another 19 times ...

1/8 of the entire schedule is against one another, as well as the rest of the division teams.

And the ONLY reason the Yankees were on wasn't because of any pennant race. It was ARod's Circus purely & simply. With all of the other great tight races going on they ignored them for this fecal matter!

Nah, I still think they were on because they are the Stinkin yankees ... period.
A-rod or not they always are on a major time slot, same goes if they happen to make the playoffs, NY will get the best time slot, even though there will be better teams out there.

It's the right of players to appeal the decisions of the commissioner. They should have that right. He's horrible enough without the players having this to hold him in check, at least a little. You can't hold it against ARod just because he was the only one to invoke his rights.

1,000% this!! I'm no ARod fan, but he does have right to appeal (as do the others).

Now, if you want to be mad about the current system or the circus this ARod mess has created that's a different matter. But at the end of the day, all ARod is doing is invoking his rights.
