MLB 2013 Season

I don't understand it either, in fact I am pissed. If they need to play at the Reds then play at the end of the season.

They gave the Reds the option to make up the game in Cincinnati in September and play 44 straight games or play the game in SF instead. They chose SF

I never heard that. Hmmm. Oh well.

...Inglesias isn't "hitting" .395. He has hit .395. ... The smart money for his next at bat would even out at less than .300.

In Iglesias's 12 games since he was last above .400, he has gone 8 for 45, all singles, for batting and slugging averages of .178 and .178

Meanwhile, the much maligned, "O-for-Drew", in his most recent 12 games, has gone 12 for 42 with 4 doubles and 3 triples, for a batting average of .286 and a slugging average of .524 over that interval. I don't care if Iglesias is the greatest defensive third baseman in the history of baseball: you can't play a guy with a .178 slugging percentage at third. You'd get more value from a Butch Hobson throwing every fifth grounder he fields into the stands.

There is no hotter team than the Dodgers right now.

Hopefully the extra rest has helped Lester get back on track....

Exactly. Too early to tell, but we could be looking back on the extra rest as an ingenius move by Farrell. If Lester continues like he did last night, Buchholz comes back healthy, Lackey continues on a Comeback Player of the Year arc, Doubront continues to impress I like this rotation (granted, that's a LOT of ifs). Hopefully, Dempster can gain some consistency, and more importantly the Sox can pick up some more bullpen help.

I wouldn't count on the box of tampax named Clay coming back until September.

Clay says he's 90% at the ASB, than goes and sees Dr. Andrews, who says he's fine. But, somehow he still needs another month off. He and Ellsbury should have their own personal gynecologists.

I'm glad the Sox rewarded Pedroia with an extension, dude goes out and plays everyday, no matter what.

I was listening to MLB Network radio today and they were discussing the Sox and Pedroia's contract and Ellsbury's coming up (or is it FA), anyways they were thinging that Ellsbury and his Agent just found out what the ceiling was in Boston as they won't get more than Pedroia and may as well decide to test the FA waters ... Most of the Boston fans are saying thank you for moving on !

For as much as I HATE Marlins ownership...I am slowly starting to like this team. NO ON is having a great year and they have already won 37 games. I actually thought they may not win more than 50. These kids play hard... I would not be surprised if they end up losing less than 100 games.
