Report: Brian Runge failed drug test
Only the Reds third pitcher to throw two no hitters. Jim Maloney and Johnny Vander Meer were the others. He will go after Vander Meers back to back record this weekend against the Mariners. This was also the first no hitter pitched at GABP. Homer once called GABP a little league park. I wonder if he likes it better now.
Sorry Kraven, did not reach the bottom of the page to see the post.

Hitters like Puig never do good in HR derbies, for the same reason Piazza and Kemp don't do well in them. They are opposite field power hitters that wait until the ball gets deep into the hitting zone. They require pitches outside, low, and off the plate. They seldom hit HRs during batting practice.I think the HR Derby would be the perfect place for Puig this year. That event needs an attraction since all the big-name players don't participate any more...
Vander Meer's record will never be broken in my opinion. It may be tied someday but never broken.
But it is not the hardest record in baseball to break. Fernando Tatis once hit two grand slams in one inning. As far as I know, no one has ever had three at bats with the bases loaded in each in one inning, which is what they'd need to even have an opportunity to break that record.
Even more amazing is that both were against the same pitcher. But it is not the hardest record in baseball to break. Fernando Tatis once hit two grand slams in one inning. But, it could happen. Cal Ripken's consecutive games played streak is one that will never be broken. Shoot, even DHs like David Ortiz are given games off to rest, so there's absolutely no chance a position player will break it.But it is not the hardest record in baseball to break. This latest flack about Puig and the All-Star is so ridiculous. This game needs to promote new stars and idiots like Papal-bum, bitching about the possibility of making the All-Star game....does not hurt.

I agree with him.
Lets say Nick Castallonos gets called up by the Tigers tomorrow and hits the hell out of the ball , like Puig and he's hitting that way into the ASG, are we gonna tout him for the ASG ?
I doubt it and he may be even better than Puig, no one knows for sure.
I typically won't vote a player in that has only played part of the season, Puig has only played what a third of the season and your gonna put him in over someone thats been there all along and doing well ?
He is staying in the game.
