Yeah baby! Another no no for Homer!

Oddly Homer has thrown the last 2 no-hitters in the majors. One last September and the first one this season.

Totally missed that. Lol!

Understandable. If my Dodgers did the same, I would have missed it too. During the excitement of the moment you just want to post about it.

And like I was saying way back in spring training, come mid-season, the Red Sox two most dependable starters will be John Lackey and Alfredo Aceves.

How do you spell "ACE"? L-A-C-K-E-Y!

Code:
Pitcher IP H R ER BB SO HR PC--ST ERA
J Lackey 8.0 6 1 1 1 6 1 103-73 2.81

Iggy has 3 hits tonight, including a triple and is now back up to .431 and slugging .579 in 102 at-bats. Who knows? Maybe he IS a .400 hitter!

Two for three tonight, up to .438...

Iggy went 2 for 3 tonight, hanging in at .415...

Not as note worthy as Bailey's outing, but Kershaw dominated the Roxs, pitching a shutout and ending Cuddyer's hitting streak.

Puig goes 3 for 5 with a double, single, and HR

Even more importantly the Dodgers jump from last to third. In 1.5 weeks go from 9 games out to 2.5 games out.

Heck, if they could ever get to .500, they'd be close to 1st place.

Yasiel Puig's seventh-inning home run Tuesday was calculated at 451 feet. It is the longest home run of the season by a Dodger.

This latest flack about Puig and the All-Star is so ridiculous. This game needs to promote new stars and idiots like Papal-bum, bitching about the possibility of making the All-Star game....does not hurt.

Well, this would help explain the rash of bad calls and rulings we've seen recently... ;)

A Major League Baseball umpire was recently dismissed for what was believed to be the first known drug ouster among umps, two people familiar with the situation have told The Associated Press.

MLB announced on June 14 that Brian Runge was no longer on the staff and that a Triple-A umpire had been promoted, but didn't give a reason. Only once since 2000 had such a change been made in midseason, and that was because of an injury.

The two people said Runge failed at least one drug test, then reached an agreement so he could remain on the umpire roster. When he failed to comply with those terms, he was released.

Report: Brian Runge failed drug test

Only the Reds third pitcher to throw two no hitters. Jim Maloney and Johnny Vander Meer were the others. He will go after Vander Meers back to back record this weekend against the Mariners. This was also the first no hitter pitched at GABP. Homer once called GABP a little league park. I wonder if he likes it better now. :D

I think the HR Derby would be the perfect place for Puig this year. That event needs an attraction since all the big-name players don't participate any more...
