I think the race for ROY is very tight. More than likely between Puig and Marlins starting pitcher, Jose Fernandez. Personally, I think they will give it Puig because of great year the Dodgers are having. I am hoping Fernandez gets it.

I've had my money on Ryu. Fernandez is having a better year, especially considering he plays for a worse team.

I can think of two instances of player over over-exuberance that I saw in high school. One was, when our eventual state championship football team was ahead of the second best team in the state, 50-0, a cornerback made an interception and nearly had a public orgasm on the field. The other was in a JV basketball game, when a guy most of us regarded as a jerk made the first of two free throws with a four or five point lead and under ten seconds remaining, and he had to be figuratively dragged back to the line to attempt the second shot. This whole "celebration" thing is definitely a post baby boom pathology

Buchholz is now 10-0 with an ERA of 1.6. He has four starts left. If he goes 14-0 with an ERA of about 1.6, can that win the Cy Young Award?

IMO, no. You can't miss three months and qualify for that award.

Well, it's officially official- we will have a new World Series champion, as the Giants have been officially eliminated from postseason contention. Just goes to show that not only is repeating not easy, but that we have not had a WS rematch since 1977-1978

The Suspended PED players are available to come back, if the teams want them the last week of the season, however they are allowed to Workout with thier own teams starting today / tomorrow, don't remember which.

Do you want your player back ? should the team take them back ?

They join the Marlins, Cubs and Brewers for the eliminated teams in the NL. The Rockies and Mets could join them tonight, and the Phillies and Padres are any day now.

More info on their play against the NL West. They started off at 9-23 against the West, since then they are 21-5.

What I liked is that once everything cooled down, you could see his Hernandez's teammates and coaches quietly all taking a 1-1 with him on the bench. Then afterward even the Braves were all commenting that he is young and learning and they really respect what a fine pitcher his is becoming. The kid has a very bright future. I like him!!!
