MLB 2013-2014 off-season moves

I agree. It seems like the Nats got the better end of this deal.

I think the Tigers have a lot more moving to do, particularlly with the Winter Meetings coming up, that said, if they were gonna move Fister I thought it would be as part of a deal to get the LF'er or pen help they need.

That was a steal for the Nats. They get a quality starter for basically nothing. I just wonder if something is wrong with Fister?

I LOVE the Pierzynski signing. He's the kind of player you hate when he's on the other team, but love when he's on your team. I was getting the feeling he was lobbying for this when he was on the FOX panel at the World Series.

Me too.

Contract flexibility of one year (won't hold back catching prospects Christian Vazquez and Blake Swihart)
Durability (111+ games per season at C throughout his recent career)
Recommended by Juan Nieves who worked with him in Chicago

The Sox are VERY high on Vazquez

Just saw this Ozzie quote about Pierzynski: "If you play against him, you hate him. If you play with him, you hate him a little less.''

The guys a douche. Do the Sox need him that badly that they didn't learn from hiring the last douche? (Valentine)

Big difference between the field general and 1 out of 25 players. I'm pretty confident that the morale the Sox harvested last season can withstand one "douche".

I think they wanted to pick up some younger players, not dump salary but have some flexibility as I think they have other moves on the plate . Fister will be missed though!

True. I'm sure they will do fine with him.

Marlins to sign former Red Sox catcher Saltalamachia? If starts of well, he'll be gone by the trading deadline.

Hell, if he comes into spring training in shape, he'll be traded by opening day!

F%@&ING Loria!
