MLB 2012 Postseason

I dont think they have much choice, unless you start the first game earlier. I dont think they would ever have a game on TBS and the other on TNT. I dont think they would want to split the audience even though FOX had to do that a couple of times. I remember the ALCS being on FOX and the NLCS being on FX. That was Yankees/Red Sox so that was on FOX in my area. The NLCS was Cards/Astros and if I lived in St. Louis or Houston, that game would have been on FOX and the ALCS would have been on FX.

First the no hitter for Bailey and now this. I think the Reds could get far with there pitching and I dont think we have seen Johnny Cueto yet.

If Im Detroit, I'm totally relaxed. So if Oakland scores a run, it wouldnt bother me because I know Im leading the series 2-0. Oakland has all the pressure on them. Even if Oakland beats up on the Tigers in the 2nd or 3rd inning, I know that I have the lead. I would worry if I lose games 3 and 4, then its something to worry about.

Mets,
You still watching this game and finding the Tigers totally relaxed ?
I'm not, the Tigers ROAD game has shown up once again, they are playing pathetic offensively ...
Fielder is the only one hitting the ball and he's had 2 Great defensive plays made against him.

This one isn't over but I agree. We don't want to let them make this a series. If you let them back in it a couple bad bounces can end the season.

Not happening tonight King....

Just not with it.

That said, the 9th has the heart of our order and Cabrera is due, Anderson made him look bad and Fielder has been on the ball tonight, so ya never know.

As long as the A's don't score another run here in the 8th.

Can't believe they brought Porcello in ..... Now if we tie the game up in the 9th, do we leave Porcello in incase it goes to extra innings and let him go 4 or so innings ?

Well we get one more chance and they have to go through Miggy and Prince to close it down. It would be nice if Infante could lead off the inning by getting on base.

We'll got rid of Anderson and Cabrera got his hit .... Prince got a pitch called a strike that the pitch box said was a ball, then hits into a DP to end it.

On the downside we lose. On the upside the game is over before 11:45. Now we have to win tomorrow. We don't want to play in a win or go home scenario and we don't want to use Verlander again in this series. We want him to pitch game one in the ALCS.

I was hoping to use Scherzer in Game 1, but that won't happen now.

Look for Scherzer to have a good game once he knocks the rust off, he hasn't pitched in over a week now.

Sanchez showed that he was a good pickup too. He pitched well enough to get a win but they offense didn't do much at all. The team seems to struggle as a whole against left handed pitching. Tomorrow we have Scherzer pitching against a righty. We'll see how it goes with a slightly later, 9:30 start time.

Great, another late night.

I look for Porcello to possibly stay in the pen next year and Sanchez in the rotation from the start with Smyly taking the 5th spot.
Verlander, Scherzer, Fister, Sanchez and Smyly.

I would take that rotation. The only problem is that we would have to resign Sanchez for that to happen. He will be a free agent after this season. I hope they do sign him because he is a quality starting pitcher that adds depth to our pitching rotation. I don't think he would be asking for anything outrageous and I doubt there will be many better starting pitching options on the free agent market.

I don't think the Tigers would have gone after him if they didn't have an idea that he would resign .... just my thoughts... if your in his shoes, do you go to FA and sign with another team that ISN'T possibly going to make the playoffs next year when you have a good chance of making if you stay ?

Then again, the stankees could come calling, they seem to outbid most every other team when theres someone they want.

Interesting schedule tomorrow:

Cardinals @ Nationals- 1:00pm ET (MLBN)
Giants @ Reds- 4:00pm ET (TBS)
Orioles @ Yankees- 7:30pm ET (TBS)
Tigers @ Athletics- 9:30pm ET (TNT)

IF BOTH the Giants-Reds AND Tigers-A's series ends today, the Orioles-Yankees game will move to 8:30pm ET

This sucks! I miss the days where you got ALL the playoff games on regular t.v.!

And MLB wonders why generations of baseball fans are not into baseball anymore....

Go Cards up 8-0 top of the 8th inning :) I live in Saint Louis,Missouri and if they don't advance I will be rooting for Nationals :)
