T.O.... Canada lingo for Toronto. That or the Centre of the Universe. The rest of Canada calls it the centre of the black hole
Toronto likley has the only distinction of all the North American cities to have called in the army after it snowed for 5 inches.

Cheers, K
What is even more interesting is that you spell centre the British way instead of the American way

Its going to be an interesting season the in AL East and West (Angels). I dont see how L.A will do any better with 2 power sluggers in the line-up.

This summer I'd be up for a group "get together" at an MLB game if there's interest.

Cheers, K

Washed up has been.

Washed up ?
Don't you have to BE somebody before you can say they are Washed up ?

While he was very good at one time, it was a very short amount of time .... what 3 years, maybe.

I vaguely remember Ryan Freel. I know I heard his name before. Very sad nontheless. Especially right near the holidays. RIP.

R.I.P. Freel! He was a all out guy that reminded me a lot of the style of play Pete Rose had.

The Boston Red Sox on Wednesday acquired All-Star closer Joel Hanrahan and a prospect from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for reliever Mark Melancon and a trio of minor leaguers.

Also headed to Pittsburgh in the deal are pitcher Stolmy Pimentel, infielder Ivan De Jesus and first baseman/outfielder Jerry Sands. Along with Hanrahan, the Red Sox also received infielder Brock Holt.

Well, there goes the Tigers "Fall Back" option, or at least it looks like thats what they were doing ...

Maybe going the season with Rondon and do fine, maybe he'll blow up like Valverde (whose still available btw, go Lord I hope they don't resign him).
Maybe they will sweep in and sign Soriono after all, but thinking it wouldn't be till Spring Training is well under way.

So Pittsburgh gives up an All Star reliever for a disappointing one. Looks like they save $6 million in 2013, and maybe more next year. Are they that hard up that they can't pay $7 million for an ace reliever?

The Red Sox now need some starters who can make it to the fourth inning. They've got enough relievers to carry them from there. Still, I think Bailey has to be pissed. yeah, he was mediocre last year, but he only pitched a month or so at the end of the season. If they gave up on him that easy, maybe they didn't really love him in the first place.

Hanrahan was nothing special and, to be honest, I'm glad he didn't land on the Tigers roster since I was getting some of those Brad Penny vibes.

It looks as though they're going with Rondon. Okay, don't stone me....but, what if the Tigers were able to resign Valverde for 1-year @ 5 million (almost half-salary) assuming Senior Tubby agrees to drop 25 lbs. and maintain that weight during the season? If we get him at that price, there is some hope that he may have decent season and give Rondon some time to hone his skills.
