MLB 2010 Season

Must be funny SoCal math.
OK...The reds were up by 2 games? If they won they would have been up by 3. Since they lost, they are only up by 1. The difference between winning and losing when they play each other is 2 games (3 up vs 1 up = 2 game difference).

Now today they are up by 1. If they lose they will be tied. If they win they will be up by 2. Again, a two game difference

I would love to see the Reds win the NL Central and make the playoffs.

It would be nice to see new blood in October; plus, I'm getting a little tired of the Cardinals. How many more times do I have to hear about what a god Pujols is?

No, I didn't get tired of Kelly, but there were a lot of people that were.

During the fourth straight Super Bowl year, many in the media were tired of Buffalo- and Kelly- being in the Super Bowl.

I remember Mike Lupica of 'Outside the Lines' said "The Buffalo Bills are the serial killers of the Super Bowl. Somebody stop them before they kill the Super Bowl again."

In other words, fans get tired of a team winning all the time if it's not their team that's doing the winning.

If you were a fan of the Lakers in the Showtime era, you never got tired of it. If you were a fan of another Western Conference team in that same era, it got really tiresome.

At least the Rams have a good, strong-armed QB in Bradford. Better than Buffalo's weak-armed wimps.

That has yet to be determined ..... we don't know how good or bad Bradford is going to be. He has no O line to speak of.

I'm not saying he won't be good, but we don't know for sure.

There are an awful lot of QB's out there that are not very good.

Remember, there's a ton of HYPE every year over the top 2 QB's every year.
Usually they don't all make it.

Leaf and Peyton come to mind.

Btw, how did football bleed into the MLB thread ? :D

Padres are hoping to pad their 2.5 game lead over the Giants this week, leading up to a weekend showdown in SF. Padres want to feast on the last place Pirates, while the Giants have to play the slightly better Cubs.

The deadline deal for Ryan Ludwick paid off with a two homer game yesterday, while the three guys above him in the lineup went 0-12 for the game.

yeah, i know what you are saying

On the twelfth day of Strasmas,
my pitcher gave to me...

A little erratic in the second inning, but has settled down, with six strikeouts and three runs allowed (only one earned) through four innings. Struck out the side with runners on, and did so with an assortment of pitches thrown for strikes

Final line: five innings, seven strikeouts, one earned run. Only 85 pitches thrown. Ineligible for the win with the score tied at 3-3 tie.

I didn't see Strasburg's throwing error on a grounder with a runner on first, but it must have been a doozie, since it resulted in the baseruner scoring and the batter making it to third. I don't think a throw into the dugout could be responsible for that.

Padres go 2 for 3 in their series at the Giants, increase their division lead to 3.5 games, and go 22 games over .500. Adding Ludwick was a great move.

SF has to go to Philly, SD at the Cubs. Padres have the easier schedule down the stretch, but still have seven games head to head with the Giants, including three there to end the regular season.
