Local's on Demand coming to Weather Nation

Weathernation just posted this on their FB page in response to a question. I think this is coming from the VP of programming over at WeatherNation.

"We are working with DirecTV to deliver local on demand. Thanks for reaching out and the suggestion to add Green Bay."

Hopefully this works out.

Since I get the station OTA too I already get locals on the 5's. Its cutins from the local station but this will help the folks who get it only on satellite

Neither 361 or 362 has a On Demand as of this moment, 1361 and 1362 both show as Channel not Available.

I think is like a local on the 8's (5"s in this case) with weather apps from WN.

This would be great if they had the ability to handle all 210 DMA's.

Chances are IF they do this, they will do like the top 25 cities and thats it, which is great if you live in one of those cities.

I have local on the 5s on channel 2-2. I wonder if affiliated locals will handle local forecasts in their areas on Directv. It might be interesting to see how the WeatherNation locals handle the new popularity of WeatherNation that doesn't have their ads. WeatherNation Blackouts? Lol

They ought to be realistic and save costs by doing the locals every 15 minutes or even less. Doesn't have the cache' but gets the job done at a more reasonable cost.
