I am back and up and running as well... Although for some reason I am getting to following error on the two machines I loaded up with the latest client.

[17:19:19] + Could not connect to Work Server
[17:19:19] - Attempt #5 to get work failed, and no other work to do.
Waiting before retry.
[17:20:39] + Attempting to get work packet
[17:20:39] - Connecting to assignment server
[17:20:40] - Successful: assigned to (130.49.240.81).
[17:20:40] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home

I hope they fix it soon. :)

I am unsure if I am going to turn my PS3 on for folding again. It uses so much energy but then again it also heats the room nicely as well.

Decissions... decissions. :)

Didn't realize a couple of my SMP's had gone down....

Also, started up my PS3 folding again. Good little heater for the basement rooms

anyone noticed ?
theres a update to the PS3 new interface.. very high-tech now (widgets)

Yep saw this today now called Life with Playstation.

Was a bit confused on how to see my stats etc, so thought i'd post this hint from the FAH community.Folding Forum • View topic - Life w/Playstation/F@H intergration out now! for real!!

You can, it's just hidden.

If you're on the LWP channel (i.e. the one with news and the Google Earth-like image), hold down square until the channel menu comes up, and while holding square scroll down to the F@H channel.

When you're on the F@H channel, hit triangle, and then select "Current channel." This will bring up the usual F@H menu.

Also it seems the points on ps3 may be down a little, but here's the official response from the Pande Group.

I think it would be useful for me to give some background here. It's very clear that the ns/day is down, but that's not what it might seem. We're doing more complex science which runs slower on the PS3, so that's responsible for most of the slow down you're seeing. I've mentioned this in a recent blog post to give some details (http://folding.typepad.com/news/2008/09 ... ation.html).

For those who are interested, it's slower because we're running a more complex version of the GB implicit solvent, which is much more computationally demanding; the upside is that this would be much more accurate. This is also the main solvent model we're running on GPU2 right now. In fact, earlier PS3 results pointed us to the significance and importance of moving to this new model, so this (and GPU2) reflects what we've learned so far.

However, there is a small performance hit due to all the other life with Playstation (LWP) eye candy. However, it's not very big in the end (the Cell and RSX GPU are very powerful), with most of the slow down in terms of ns/day coming from the new science code. The upshot of the LWP eye candy will hopefully be getting a lot more PS3 donors (but I guess time will tell there). So far, the response will be strong and I expect that this could in time double the FLOP count from PS3 donors in Folding@home, which itself will be pretty impressive. More importantly, with the advanced science now rolled out on both the PS3 and GPU2 platforms, we're well-poised to tackle some much more complex and interesting calculations.

I hope Stanford can get the Windows SMP client to run reliably with the FAHcore_A2 exe. Since the Windows clients have been EUE'ing on these projects, Stanford has been using the SMP A1 core which runs much slower (20 vs. 12 hours) on my Mac Pro.

Yeah, lots of EUEs lately. Great Beta client. :) I've been keeping close track, and when I get an EUE, I kill the work directory and queue and restart. Unfortunately, they seem to assign me the same WU again, so I have to usually do it twice. Real hassle.

I almost wonder if it would be better to run 4 regular clients instead of the hassle of the SMP client.

I guess there's always the Linux solution. Or, I've seen where the really ambitious folks have installed VMware and created a virtual Linux box to run the stable V6.22 SMP client for Linux on their Windows box.

Another possibility is getting a supported NVidia or ATI GPU card. These are a great way to pump up points on Windows boxes with multiple cores. Run the GPU client on one core and the Classic client on the other core(s). Even if you have an old AGP P4 or Athlon sitting around unused, it can be reborn as a Folding Monster with an ATI HD3850 that cranks out 2,000 ppd.

So did you have a lot of troubles with the 6.22 SMP client? I know I did and had to roll back to the 5.92 SMP client.

I have not had many issues no, i do get more eue's than before, but some of that seems to be the 2665 wu's.

I am definitely not getting as many wu's completed as before, but dont know that going back would change that because of the "bad" 2665 wu's

When i upgraded i also changed to the deino version because it handles network issues better, i had to mess with config to get that to work properly.

Well my first wu completed ok, and that was a wu that had eue'd on the 6.22 client, so will keep an eye on it.
