iOS 18, what did you think?

Scott Greczkowski one question -- how is battery life on 18.2? On 18.01 I am finding my iPhone 16 Pro Max takes a beating and I am on wifi all day. It doesn't reach critical levels, but much faster drain than my 15 Pro Max did.

BUT I love the action button. Really so useful with the camera.
I use the camera button for that.

I use the action button to launch the Magnifier and if I hold it longer then Shazam starts and listens to the music. (I am running a shortcut that lets me do two things with the action button) :)

I think I'm going to upgrade to 18.2 just to give it a try.

Be advised that if you want to roll back to a previous version, you'll need to do it manually via ISPW.me and iTunes. You'll also want to have an iCloud or local backup from your current version available.

I meant the new camera control. Called it the wrong thing. I barely use the action button. But good ideas there.

And the Otterbox defender has it setup so it makes that control so easy to use. And I have never accidentally launched it.

when it takes a bite out of something they considered industry-leading.

I see what you did there

Indeed, RCS should have been added long ago, but it competes with iMessage.

Apple was also forced by the EU to implement USB-C, otherwise there's no reason to believe they would have ever ditched Lightning.

Since Apple was already doing USB C on some tablets and computers, I submit that they were just being punitive in not moving towards USB-C on the iPhone.

I just got an alert from my credit union. Some of their app features do not work properly or at all under iOS 18. This will no doubt apply to other financial institutions as well.

I've had no issue with financial services apps on my iPhone with iOS 18.0.1 Chase, BofA, Citi all work fine.

I'm looking forward to trying out the Air Pods Pro enhancements with 18.1, hearing test and aid.

Update: FCC wants unlocked phone rules to change, but AT&T and T-Mobile have other ideas
