Well I finally got the Hopper! Had new Dish installed two HWS and 2 Joey's. I am very pleased. Only down side is having to redo my timers. :) Tech was great. I have had out 3 Direct TV techs. One messed it up and the other two bailed. Also had a Dish tech out. He tried to put a Dish up that would get me my locals and he bailed. This guy looked at what I had done. Asked all the right questions, did a great job. Can't say enough. The equipment works great. Is quite. Will take a while to learn all the cool stuff. Seems fast. While he was here I installed my OTA tuners. signal is very nice. Better then the 722k. Already had extra remotes. Everything looks great and works well.Hard thing to tell but the picture looks better to me then the 722, but that could be just because I'm happy. I just keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I really hope other people have the same experience and my system says problem free. Thank you to everyone on the site that helped be prepare!

Congrats on the new equipment, any questions feel free to ask. One heads up thing give your apps about 24 hours to fully load

Thanks. Kids went nuts at first. Hopper and Joey had problems with some of the apps and On Demand features. Today all's good. Sometimes it's nice being a little older. ;)

If I read that right you had 3 DirecTV techs out to install hoppers? Therein lies your problem. lol.

But yeah, the system is great. I've told many a customer it's only as good as the tech that does the work. Sounds like you got the right guy. As a Dish installer, I did my own install so I got the right guy too haha. Naturally it's not without the occasional hiccup, but I utilize both an EHD and OTA module on my main HWS and haven't really experienced any of the glitches that so many others have complained about. One of my original H2000's had a MOCA issue that caused me to replace it, but no problems since. I think you'll really enjoy it.

For a time I was going try DTV/Gene. But it never worked out. I am someone who does not have a problem with new, or switching just to see how it works. Sometimes things work out for the better. Time will tell.

Also new install yesterday still getting use to it. I find it a lot slower then my old 722. The hopper and joeys get confusing when primetime is recording. I have had to relink 2x since the install.
Will continue to monitor . I know it will take some getting use to.

Also my 40 Sony died today :-( Weird line going up the side of the screen all of the sudden.

Also I am not able to get any of the apps to load My account/Facebook/Pandora Etc just sits there and spins

My apps are working. That is strange that some work and some don't. DishDave and I had install on the same day? Same equipment. ;)

When I got my HWS, initially the apps didn't work. A week or so later my HWS downloaded new firmware and my apps still did not work. Suddenly, and for no reason that I can figure out, about 2 weeks later all of the apps just started to work!

Hopefully, if you wait a while your apps will come to life like mine did.

I have had my HWS about two weeks. Apps did not work and one night it did not record the PTAT, but has settled in if I am lucky, I will not have any additional problems. Everything is working great at the moment. The HWS is so fast at receiving remote entries and the guide just zooms.

I read this site and noticed this TV has built in Miracast. Newer TVs has this built in and it works great. For readers that don't know what is Mircast, it is a way to wireless stream anything on your cell phone or computer, if they are capable, to your TV. Most newer smartphones have Miracast built in and some newer computers have Intel's WiDi chip and they can stream wireless to a Miracast capable TV. For two of my older TVs I attached Miracast adapters and both TVs work great. The adapters attach to TV by HDMI and AC power. I use it with my laptop mostly to stream a You Tube clip or a movie to my TV. Sometimes I use it to mirror a spreadsheet I am working on to my big screen TV. My kid uses his smartphone with his TV. It is a great way to quickly stream to TVs without having to connect a HDMI cable.

"Temporarily" unpause an account? (DIRT question maybe?)
