All,

Long time Dish customer. Have Hopper 3 for years, hooked up to Samsung Neo QLED with HDMI, Yamaha receiver RX-V6A.

This setup has worked fine. Wednesday Dish was out and gave me a Hopper Plus and upgraded my 2 Joeys to Joey 4's.

Now, wife's remote (Dish 52.0) won't power off the tv, hopper, and receiver as it did before. TV momentarily goes off, receiver momentarily goes off, Hopper goes into standby (I believe). Then within 10 seconds, TV powers back on, receiver powers back on, Hopper remains in standby. There is a screensaver on. But the result is nothing stays off. One weird aspect is the Hopper doesn't always go to standby when she presses the top right key (TV) and then the top left key (Sat). Sometimes it comes right back to the Hopper playing. BUT only once. Press the 2 keys again and it will result in TV on, receiver on, Hopper in standby with screensaver.

My remote (Dish 54.0) works as expected, with 1 button push turning TV off, receiver off, Hopper into standby.

Was wondering if anybody had any ideas?

Thank you,

PK Davis

thanks for the input all!

just for the record, should I have received a 54.0 remote when the Hopper Plus was installed by Dish on Wednesday?

I know I should have gotten one with both new Joey 4's. I had one already and they didn't leave the remote for that one. I didn't have one for the other Joey, so they did leave me one for that one.

I'm wondering if they kept 2 remotes that I should have gotten. At least one would solve the wife's problem, though for some reason she doesn't like the 54.0 and prefers the 52.0.

Again, thanks for the replies here.....

No, the hopper plus does not come with a remote. But any decent tech imo should if swapped it out anyways.
As to the issue it sounds like an issue with cec and having two power buttons on the 52. Go to remote settings and turn off cec and see if that resolves your issue.
