When I had a 722, I mirrored it to another TV, using component for one, HDMI for the other. Whenever we tried to watch a Show/HBO show on the component TV, we would get the non-compatibility (or compliant) message. To proceed, we would have to turn on the HDMI set....then we could watch. I'm wanting to mirror again to eliminate one joey. Will this still happen with Hopper ?

By HDMI licensing requirements, it should. Technically, even if there is a valid HDCP response, the component outputs should blank (or down-res).

I would expect that it will only get worse.

IIRC, the end of this year is the sunset for Blu-ray players putting out analog HD on protected content. Most modern Blu-ray players no longer feature component outputs.

Dish (is not) cutting retailers installation payments again.

Universal remote controls and the HWS?
