I saw in one of the online manuals that the Hopper claims to support both 1080i and 1080p24, but when I go into the Settings, under Display, the highest resolution is only 1080i.

Does anyone know which is correct as I would much prefer to have my TV working at 24fps to eliminate judder.

There are no channels either over the air or satellite that are 1080P. But, as LER points out, some very few PPV/VOD movies are. It will automatically go to 1080P for those movies.

Tampa, are you sure about the 1080p for VOD on the Hopper? In the Hopper setup (Settings/Format TV/HDTV/TV Type) the highest resolution shown is 1080i. My HDMI connected Panasonic is capable of 1080p, so I believe 1080i is a Hopper limitation.

Re- read my post, it will automatically go to 1080P if the movie is. There is no setting for 1080P on the VIP receivers either.
