722K in middle TN, satellites 110, 119, 129.

I had some masonry work done on the chimney where my dish is mounted. Yesterday I had the dish clamped to a board and just laid across the top of the chimney. Moved it once and had good signals with it just sort of propped up.

Now, putting it back, I can't get it aimed correctly. I have not changed any adjustments, and it's back within 6-8 inches of it's last position. The mast would have been at least close to plumb before, and is now. Moving it around a bit, I get "wrong satellite-119 on 110, and 129 on 119. Clearly pointed at the wrong thing, but patiently moving it has not helped. The signal strength is strong-just the wrong one. Does this give enough info to help someone tell me which way to go?

I've always had good signal strength, and I have to believe I can manage to re-aim this myself-with a little advice.:) I originally installed it myself many years ago, and the new dish was installed right onto my old mast installation a few months ago without problems.

Thanks,

John

whats your zip code- we can give you the angles

37013 az 222 el 38 skew 122
I know the angles, the aiming screen gives me those. I'm hoping that someone will tell me what picking up 119 on 110, and 129 0n 119 tells me, if anything. I can't quite get the small movement needed, but I'm gonna try this morning.

Thanks,

John

picking up the 119 instead of the 110 means the lnb designated for the 110 is hitting the 119, so the dish needs to be turned to the east or turned left when standing behind the dish. if the mast is not truely plumb you might need to tweek the skew and elevation a bit to maximize signals on both sats

Thanks for the help, guys. A new welded angle bracket to mount the base to, and adjusting everything to where it's supposed to be fixed it right up-imagine that. I used an angle finder from Harbor Freight (< $10) that I use in my work to set the elevation, which is very vague on the dish scale. It worked great and the elevation was off quite a bit. It only took a couple of minutes to fiddle with the 129 to get the best signal (48) :up The others are 70+. YeeHaw. :)
