Gas Price Info With National Gas Temperature Map

We need to start following the stock price of these oil companies and the dividends paid out anlog with these pump prices. This may be a recourse for us to get something back.

We peaked at $3.59? on Tuesday and prices have back-tracked a little to $3.55? since. We'll take my wife's G6 if we go on anywhere this weekend since it gets 32+ mpg on the highway.

I saw Diesel for $2.69?/gal at our local Krogers. Our state legislation is considering repealing the state taxes on fuel for the summer to help ease the pain.

Too bad Michigan can't afford a temporary tax repeal. They are still trying to make up the 800mil budget shortfall.

Lowest price I saw this morning was $3.59, most places still $3.63-$3.67. Diesel is $2.95 everywhere pretty much.

We jumped 35 cents on Tuesday.

Sounds like it wasnt such a good idea to re-elect Granholm eh?

Dont feel to bad, we had an early gas tax hike because our gas went up past the %25 of the total cost of gasoline on january 1st.

Hey I didn't vote for her. But then again, Mich governor position is so weak. Honestly her only job is to create and balance the budget. The state legislature controls the state.

I do like the movement to make the state legislature a part-time position. It'll never pass, but I support it.

What pisses me off most is the fact that most Americans are complaining and then doing nothing to slow their consumption. More people turn out to protest Paris Hiltons jail term than will do anything about their consumption of gas.

Luckily I live in a part of the state that is actually growing. Thanks to the Kalamazoo Promise in the school district, we are seeing a growth in jobs, building and business springing up.

I can almost gurantee this part of Michigan voted strongly against Jenny and her mole. :)

EXACTLY! They also fail to help ease local and state taxes, red tape and other restrictions to allow easier and faster and less costly new refinery startups too. We as Americans just love to bitch and complain. I don't like paying the price at the pump either, but I am not in the complaining or oil company bashing side. We also love to bash on people making money too; without all the facts.

... Our state legislation is considering repealing the state taxes on fuel for the summer to help ease the pain.
So the idea is to have the price be lowered, reducing the incentive to use less fuel? At the same time, cut the money to the agency that maintains the roads.

Sounds like a plan to me...

RE repealing the State taxes on gasoline, "Our Man Mitch" said not at this time. Compared to Europe, we still have it good, even at $4/gal.

I think eliminating the sales tax on gasoline is not going to help if several states started to do that. That takes away from having money for upkeeping the roads or they would have to make up for it somewhere else. That would give the oil companies a reason to increase their prices even more increasing their profits to get it back up to where it was before the tax was lifted.

And then there is that issue with George Bush promising to VETO the bill that would allow something to be done when price gouging occurs.

wonder what gas prices would do when terrorists fly small private planes into oil refernies loaded with bombs:(

instant 10 buck a gallon gasoline? 3.10 a gallon here

Something happened since M day here (Jacksonville,Florida).

Gas took a dip and Hess is down to $2.95 / gal and many stations. BP and Shell at 3.09 and Exxon at 3.19. All these are down from just before M. Day.

Don: Are you surprised? Unfortunately, we're still over the $3.40/gal mark here. Diesel is still where it was before the gasoline prices spiked.

Yahoo! Green had a news item about a car that runs on compressed air. Goes 125 miles between "recharges" (I was going to say "blow-ups", but that didn't sound right;)). Only in India for now...
