EHD fee?

If you hook up an external hard drive you have to pay dish a fee to access this ability ? Is it a one time fee? Monthly fee? How much ? I couldn't find anything about this on dish's website.

EHD's are free except if they are attached to 211s. The $40 fee for the 211 makes the 211 a DVR with no monthly charge. 722s, 922s and Hoppers can have EHDs at no charge, monthly or one time....

There used to be a charge, but that went away about 2 years ago.
