Dish Alignment Issue

Hello Forum,

I have a Dish 500+. It was working fine for a few months. Yesterday I thought I heard some snow pack slide on to it from the roof top and immediately lost signal.

I figured the alignment went bad, but after spending 2 hours I have still been unsuccessful to get any kind of signal on any of the satellites (110, 118 and 119). Normally it does not take this long to catch signal, about 10 minutes of trial and error gets me the signal. But I have ZERO signal this time.

Question: Could the falling snow/ice have damaged the LNB and how can I find out via diagnostics if that is the case?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Here is the check switch result:

Under Details:

Depending on what fell and how it hit the dish you could have, warped dish, bent support arm, damaged LNB. Even the mount might have been shifted. Call DISH and setup a service call they have equipment you probably don't have .

If the impact caused the pole part of the mount to be less than truly vertical you will have a bitch of a problem trying to find a satelite.
I agree with Boba, probably would be better to call Dish.

Could it have pulled on the coax wires causing a bad connection or internal break?
Test for voltage at every lnb
If the dish got bent out of shape there is usually a warp or dimple in the in the outer rim or flange.
also look for the same thing where the pan bolts to the backing structure
Make sure the mast is still plum
Without a meter its difficult to point any dish but not impossible,it just takes a lot of patients.
Use the tones on the "point dish screen and telephones or walkie talkies
good luck
