This must have been discussed somewhere, but I can't find it, so here's a simple question. I want to control my DISH receiver using a non-learning remote for my Sharp TV and need to enter the 3-digit code that controls the ViP-211. I've looked all over the web for DISH devices codes and have found over 20 candidates listed, so short of trying each one, wondered if anyone here knows the answer?

Thanks,

Pete

That's the first place I went. It lists no recognizable satellite receivers, incl echostar, and their tech service advised me to ask DISH. DISH told me to look on the web, since that's not part of their training.

In my Samsung manual, it's listed under Set Top Box. I don't have a clue if those numbers will work for you but, here you go: 069, 070,025,071

If Sharp dosen't list it they probably don't support the DISH product line on their remote get a UNIVERSAL or use the DISH remote to operate your Sharp.

Thanks for the advice - I think I'll need to get a universal remote since the DISH remote can only turn the Sharp on & off and nothing else - and the Sharp remote does everything except turn the DISH on & off!

It would be nice if DISH (or Sharp, for that matter) would either make theirs a learning remote, include 1-2 programmable buttons on their standard remotes or offer a choice of remote units to choose from at time of installation.

Anyone from DISH listening?

DISH 21.0 is a learning remote and just started to trickle into distribution chain. If you search the forums you will find a few people have gotten them.

DPP44 Availability

No dish service due to snow
