I agree....that why I brought up the example of Bo Shembechler. Perhaps after a few years of seasoning (experience) and improving his 15-22 record (consistency), perhaps Turner he may be ready to step-up to big time college football. Right now he hasn't met the minimum requirements to deserve being selected to lead the Auburn team. However, I would have selected Turner over the other joker if forced to chose between these two less-than-fully-qualified candidates if I were being held at gunpoint.
Geez dude....Your killing me with this crap...did you want him to make them a winner INSTANTLY, the moment he step on campus??!! BO did not inheret a team that wasn't even competing in Division I football. Gil went 2-10 with SOMEONE ELSE'S players.....5-7 with some of the remnants of someone else's recruiting and some his and then 8-5 with alot more of HIS recruits. He HAS SHOWN "consistency" by improving record every year he has been head coach.
It kills me that everyone bitches about "smaller conference do no get their fair shake.......and here is a guy that was ALSO an assistant coach at Nebraska...a major program...was given a a chance to be a head coach...showed GREAT improvement every year...and yet, he is NOT ready??!!
