Battlestar Galactica -- Season 4

It is sad they are revealing all the stuff at the end, but its tv. Since when have tv writers/producers done things we think they should?

The Daniel thing will be interesting, i.e., Baltar or Kara, but regardless, they have to explain how Kara got back.

If they (writers/producers) had put out this info in Season 3, would we have all been glued to our tv's last night? When you know how/when the show is going to end, you have the luxury of doing an episode like last night's. Painful for the viewer to get there, but a lot of fun when this kind of episode finally arrives.

The whole Daniel thing is interesting, but I'm betting it's got something to do with Kara.

I too liked the way the whole opening was changed last night. I knew we were in for something very special...

Oh yeah,I agree. And the intro did clue us in. One more thing, I'd love to see Ellen give John his due at the end. :)

They are quickly setting the stage for the end of Galactica (the ship). I think this was to show that it cannot go on forever, and in fact the end will come sooner than expected. The chief will get it all spiffied up again with some cylon tech, but still who knows what else is about to go out. The spare part inventory is probably gone too.

Another issue is where did the Lords of Kobol come from? Is the homeworld destroyed? Was it cylons? Did a rebel group of cylons (like the current rebel group) join humans and eventually become the 13th colony? The rest of the humans just kept the toaster units and went their separate ways, until their toasters rebelled?

It is still not clear to me why cylon Earth was nuked. The 5 had advance warning of what? If Sam is dead (braindead) is he downloaded again? After all they are still near cylon Earth.

They could probably go on for weeks with explainations. The other thing is that the John/Cavil unit must have kept Ellen secret from all but the one Boomer. Why would they need to unbox DeAnna? He knew the 5. Why did the other cylons not know?

I will say this -- with it coming to an end, I am looking forward to going back watching the whole thing from the mini-series to the end, knowing what we know now.

Right now I have two big questions:
1) The Kara question, of course.

2) I'd like a better sense of how 6 got "into" Baltar's head the way she did throughout the first couple seasons. That in itself has NEVER been adequately explained for me. Maybe if he is the No. 7, it will make more sense.

AND ok, a third...

3) I want to see a suitable end to the journey. :)

Why isn't the fleet still in orbit around "Earth"? You never see it in the long shots which make me wonder if they're just putzing around the system. We know that they didn't Jump during the coup. I could see that they wouldn't want to be right on top of "Earth" when the rest of the Cylons get there.

I think that the Resurrection Ship from 3,000+ years ago is still at "Earth", maybe on the far side of the moon or something. Galactica should go look for it. I think the we'll visit there when Sam reloads. Maybe we'll see more models there, including a Kara.
Kara was able to sense the way to Earth, so we know there is something about her that is out of the ordinary. Could she be from Kobol, sent to keep an eye on Humanity?

Not the kind of thing for a cable show, but didnt Cavil know who Ellen was back on New Caprica? If so, considering she in a way basically considers him to be one of her children (in her fathers image), doesnt that mean he knowingly slept with mommy? The idea makes his character even more messed up that he already appears.

I also agree about the new intro. Very well done and in itself answers some things. Thinking more about the Daniel/Kara possibility. Maybe its sort of a backdoor reference to all the "Starbuck is a woman!" nonsense when the show first came out. They can all say "See? Starbuck is really a man!" However, it doesnt explain the new viper clone she had.

Cavil is one Evil S*B...
With the soul of a hippy. His little speech about wanting to feel the wash of radiation from the Supernova was pretty moving. "I'm not bad, I'm just programmed that way." It sounds like he would rather be at one with the Universe, exploring its mysteries, but he doesn't have the right equipment. Maybe the Final Five left off a certain part of the male anatomy that is the subject of so many commercials late at night...:D

After all, when John said "He's not a man", Ellen responded with, "As someone with first-hand knowledge, I beg to differ."

At the end of "Sometimes a Great Notion" Adama ordered Gaeta to find a place for the fleet to jump to, and ask the Cylons if they wanted to come along... I assume they jumped...

The whole "Daniel" thing ... maybe it is a Star Wars redo ... Daniel had a twin that Cavil did not know about ... enter Starbuck ... ???
