Any way to check software history?

Is there any way/anywhere I can see a history of software downloads/upgrades on my DVR (or regular receiver, for that matter)?

menu 6- 3- counters has some info but not real sure it has exactly what your looking for

That will tell you what the previous version was but nothing else unfortunately.

Go to http://www.dishuser.org/software.php and click on the software version for the receiver you're interested in.

Cool, so i clicked on the 722sw.php link on the right-hand side and it says "L618, 3-12-09", which I assume to mean that the L618 software was rolled out on March 12th, 2009. Does it go out to ALL ViP 722's on that one date, or is it possible that I received it a few days later?

The dates there are the initial roll-out. Software is typically released in phases as explained in the paragraphs at the top of the software chart. L618 was one of the rare cases of releasing to a range of ZIP codes before going to all receivers. RandallA's thread here (also linked from that page) tracks all the phases.
