AL EAST 2009

More BLIND refs/Umps in the Tigers /Sox game.
Green clearly runs out of the base line at third to run into Galaraga and the Ump bit on it and award him home on a obstruction call of Galaraga. fwiw, Galaraga was in the base path, but Green actually dipped his head so he could not see where he was and could have tackled Galaraga if he wanted to.

Sox get another run, lead 4-0 now but still early (5th) but Beckett pitching well.
Essentially this game is over....
Time to tune in guys and see this scoreless hitless Tigers team tonight.

Jimbo

Well I rushed home to see the game today, turn it on Tigers get 3 in the 2nd, then Willis hits a batter and proceeds to walk the next 5 in a row. Now miner is in walking people..

Blame the Umps all you want, and they have been bad this series, including today, but these guys have no killer instinct...That is what this team needs.

They are soft..The Dontrelle Experiment needs to be done..

Red Sox end their road trip at 6-4, after sweeping the Tigers.

Not bad when you consider they were 2-4 after the first six games.

Now it's a six game homestand against the Rangers and Yankees, and then back on the road next weekend against the Phillies.

That's a tough nine game stretch coming up for the pitching staff!

Word of advice- expect a few high-scoring games with those opponents. (Remember that one game against Texas last year with that crazy score?)

You caught the back end of the rotation.
No Verlander or Jackson this time round.
Galarraga and Willis throw the next two games ...
I see a possible sweep for your guys, Galarraga has been struggling for awhile now. I am hoping Bonderman gets here soon and he replaces Galarraga.
Willis, well we know the Willis story.
He's actually pitched decent , but doesn't have much to show for it so far... He's had the same trouble as a few other Tiger pitchers ... a bad inning here and there.

Willis is capable but just hasn't had any luck yet, still walks too many.

Bill,
I guess I called that one right....
Bonderman needs to come back to take Willis's place, he looked pathetic, just as bad as last year today.

3 innings, hit a guy and 4 walks in the SAME INNING ...
he had a 3-0 lead at the time.

Anyone want this guy, I've all but given up on him now.

Jimbo, to be fair, you didn't have EITHER of your two top guys pitch in this series (or Bonderman for that matter), so my excitement for the sweep is tempered just a bit.

Your Tigers will be all right, because they have the most necessary ingredient to winning: pitching. :)

Hopefully these two teams can hook up in October! :up

Which one will be buying thier own tickets ?

Bill,

I'm counting on your boys to keep Texas in check this weekend. The Angels will be uo to their hips in crocodiles in Detroit!!!!!sadroll

KCK, sorry we're not cooperating tonight. :(

Julio Freakin' Lugo opened the floodgates with his pristine defense in a scoreless game.

Enough is enough, Theo!

Hey, Bill. I heard the Braves are interested in Penny. After tonight, I guess they could have him. I will say Im rooting hard for the Sox too because the Yankees are on a hot steak and I dont want to hear how glorious and wonderful the Yankees are.
